Back with a small update
Been slowly adding and tinkering with the car over winter, to be fair IV done loads but not really took many pics over the period.
Cars been off the road all winter to keep it rust free and allowed me to tinker with it and change a few things.
After the eventful Nurburgring trip last year where I had to have an 8 turbo fitted in next to no time, and then the Air Con exploding on the ring :disgusted:
IV been itching to get some jobs done!
Supamario gave me his old 6 turbo (thanks you legend),to replace the 9.8t 8 turbo that was fitted, and it was time I stripped all the air con out and pipes.
Not the best pics but here goes
So started t strip down the engine bay, rad out (yes at night time :twisted
During this I realised if I took the front bumper off I'd have much better access to everything so got on with that and the next day I had the car looking like this
Once the turbo was off found a few niggles, don't know if it was to do with the rush job of the turbo swap, or like it before so not blaming anyone. Found the turbo gasket in this state, was badly overlapping too, it's the wrong shape really.
Also there wasn't a down pipe gasket at all

been wondering why the car sounded like it was blowing a bit at the front  but at least now I know it will be all better when I've finished.
Whilst it was out it was time to get rid of the AC. it's a fun job knowing your stripping plenty of weight out the front end

. Took everything out of the engine bay, all pipes, pump, radiator, fan and the cradle thing, came in at a total weight of just over 18kgs
(Weed killered the drive after this :razz
On to today i finished off changing my SSQV into a recirc valve, bought a recirc conversion kit off eBay and some new hoses, got it looking like this now.
I've had to delete the SAS system as one of the threads on the the valve itself decided to lose its thread, not that I mind it's much cleaner looking without. Used two Renault megane sump plugs to block the manifold up.
In two minds to run this or DV deleted
Also needs a good clean once it's together.
Whilst the bumper was off I decided I wanted to sort the intercooler out. It was blacked out and looking a bit tired, was ok though, this was taken a couple years back at nurburgring
I used paint strippers and covered the IC a few times over and got all the paint off, then went for a change and painted it with a metallic silver paint, came out looking like new!
Also re sprayed all the mesh on the bumper
Result
All in all a good little session on the car
Just waiting on a new banjo bolt for the block to turbo oil feed then its oil and filter change, coolant refill and new filter. Gapped the new plugs and fitted them already.
Got some more cool stuff to get on the car before blyton on the 6th of aug so will try and take plenty of pics to show my work
Thanks for looking
