Nothing too fancy from me i'm afraid.
I was in my current E6 RSII when it was just a forged 2.0, with a set of S1 cams and a TME turbo fitted, pushing 415bhp @ 1.7bar peak.
Just had the car washed, and was on my way home, which involves going down a couple of dual carridgeways.
As I got onto the first bypass a nice clean looking silver bugeye sti pulled up by the side of me, and gave the nod.
As we approached a roundabout, he indicated onto a bypass going the opposite way to me, but as it was a nice sunny sat afternoon and and there was little traffic about, I felt it was rude not to follow.
As we got onto the bypass, he booted it, and I did too, and nearly drove into the back of him (had to tap the brakes),he finally pulled over to the left lane, and I pulled past him without any issue's, pulling around 4 car lengths on him, as I approached 7750rpm in 5th the gap remained about the same.
We pulled off the dual carridgeway at the same junction, and got to the roundabout at the top, he looked over with a smile and gave another nod (as if to say fair play).
I then turned off to go on my way home, I decided to take it easy and let the car cool down, as the oil temp was sat around 110°c at this point.
So I was cruising along nice and gently, and when the oil temp finally dropped to around 85 / 90°c all seemed fine, untill I stopped at a junction and went to pull off again, when I could hear a strange noise.
Anyway when I investigated the noise, it turned out I had a journal bearing )from a previous Evo 9 turbo that had failed),had been in the sump for a couple of months, and it appeared that when doing 7750rpm in 5th, I had picked this bearing up in the oil, thrown it around the crank, breaking it up, and therefore contaminating the oil, and that caused my engine to wipe out 2 bigends
Still atleast I beat the scooby
