Again, apologies for getting back to y'all later then advertised but something came up. I must say there are quite a few good accounts here of what transpired, ultimately resulting in some one getting Evo'd!!!

The one that put a right smile on my face and has stuck in my mind since reading it has to be following:

WELL DONE FINGERS, PM YOUR ADDRESS SO I CAN GET ONTO IT FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING BUDDY!!!!

I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to participate and I hope that you will all continue to add to this thread for years to come so that every one can get a piece of your action;)

As I did say originally when I started the thread "Keep them as detailed as possible and the one that sounds like it has given the best representation to the Evo will get the very first owners decal sent out free of charge." I had to really think about it!!!

As I am a wise old man, I have decided to Award a second place too which is only as there can not be a joint first place.

COSSIE1, I will also be sending you out a custom decal, WHICH I know you deserve as you truly represent the Evo scene which you have demonstrated with your knowledge and the sick looking ride you have too!! Or should I say rides, after all the EVO I RS is still a machine and a half, I have first hand experience in knowing what it is as I have had 2 in the past.

Please PM me your address too buddy.

Well done to both of you guys as well as every one else too!!!!

El

Russ, as I said buddy, It was all about the best representation in regards to the Evo in general and I think you have that locked down for now. See what happens if your Evo sells. Might have to ask for the decal back!!!!

As for Fingers, I think that Golf driver will remember how he got Evo'd every time he steps out the house and is faced with a scorched bumper!!!!
He can never say anything bad about an Evo, let alone laugh at one!!!!

Granted, there are loads of good stories here and I would again like to thank every one for their input which has started this thread off brilliantly!!!!

It was a hard choice and NICK did not even want to get involved. He said it was my baby and I should do it.

Keep those stories rolling in please. I do not want this thread to die out.

If it was a version 4 then maybe you would have a bit of a race on your hands. The version 5 and 6 are a waste mate. They can easily be dealt with. They even sell for less than a version 4!!! You want to leave your dog in doors and go hunting around about the time and place where you usually bump into him.

If you don't smoke him then I will be surprised.

i guy i work with has just got an rx-7 and said he wanted to take it for a spin in the area. this is mostly country lanes and back roads with a couple of dual carriageways every now and again.
pulling out the base we headed towards norwich on the back roads, and because he wasnt confident in bends i knew i could have him so as he slowed into the first bend i just blasted round him and then started to lose him. it was going great until we came to our first dual carriage way and we pulled up side by side at some lights. now having 4wd i knew i could smoke him off the line and i was right and started to build a small lead. it was then he put his foot down and pulled out to go around me, knowing he would blast past me coz his rx-7 has 480bhp i pulled out to block him. :D without looking he went for the undertake and when it was too late, realised he was boxed in. i kept him here until we reached the next roundabout and then blasted off again because he started to drift around with his rwd. in my mirror i saw him pull out into the fast lane and then he slowly difted further back which puzzled me.... not 400 metres up the road i got a phone call to go back to the next roundabout so i did. upon returning i couldnt help but laugh in the poor guys face and feel sorry for him at the same time. as he pulled into the fast lane and put his foot down, the bonnet flipped up smashing his windscreen and crushing the roof. it turns out the bonnet catch was broken before.
so after all his bragging about the "amazing rx-7" he now wants an evo 5 like mine. :D
