I won't be shadowed mate its a nice nine and at least this V has been restored to a lovely standard for someone to enjoy rather than being left like it was
I tend to go through cars a lot so it's nothing new I get bored easy... But whoever buys this will get a bargain as it won't be expensive ill just price it at slightly more than what it owes me

A little update, a friend had been using the car for a while, I picked it up last night as I had a buyer coming down from Bedford (I think he is on here) to collect the car today, but when I picked my car up it, he hasnt checked the oil and it developed a knock, It is the big end
so I called the buyer straight away and explained the situation, he was grateful for my honesty and is still interested in the car after I have identified the problem.
so now it's a complete strip down and possible rebuild I will start Monday....oh happy days lol
I will post pictures up as I strip it down.

I'm absolutely gutted too be honest but I'd rather put it right now and have a happy buyer and a happy car

Yes he was, although he still wants the car as I was honest with him so that's cool, yeah I'm gutted mate but it could be worse, luckily it doesn't owe me the full cost of te original build so that's the positive I'm taking from it.
Anyways she will be brand new when we are finished, I will keep you updated with what I find

We took the engine out of the car today and I found an oil pipe was kinked along with the lack of oil
There is a slight colour on the rods but the crank isn't scorn and the pistons seem fine, although I'm sure it needs rods I'm taking the bottom end over to my engineer tomorrow so he can check it all over and see what needs replacing,
Ill also take the head over just to be sure but this also looks fine,
Who ever buys this car now can be sure it will be sound when finished

Yea I'd be looking at binning the rods, if they got that hot chances are they might fail in the future.
It is only a might though.

Pipe to the cooler mate, and if there's any doubt it's getting replaced dont worry about that, the engineers verdict will be good enough for me but there is a very slight blue tinge on one of the rods which means it reached 400 degrees so the rods will be binned lol
Just got to see what else needs replacing, ill take nicks word who owns ams engineering that is good enough for me

Wouldn't of thought that pipe would cause that much of an issue. Oil doesn't flow to the cooler all the time. Just when its hot.

Took the block, pistons, rods, crank , balance shafts , head to the engineer today, pretty much the whole engine lol he is going to look it over and get back to me middle of next week, so now we will see what it needs,
I'm quite attached to this car now I have rebuilt it twice haha I'm not sure whether to keep it or go for the nine, plus after this rebuild funds are going to be seriously dented so I might just use what I have left and finish the rest of the car, or spray bumpers and underseal,,,,,

Had the engineers report back yesterday and it needs the following:
2 x new rods
Piston rings
Re-hone
Big end bearings
Main bearings
Crank re ground

So not too bad, oh and I have decided to pay the engineer a little bit more to build the engine up again so he can check bearing clearances etc properly and make sure everything is 100%
He is also removing the balance shafts, new oil pump, filter etc etc
The head is absolutely sound as a pouf which I was relived to hear. And the pistons are fine.

My friend has a good block lying around so I'm rebuilding the bottom end completely with full set of new pistons and Rods,
Engine will literally be brand new
