By posting that video i wasnt having a pop just trying to point out that its not only evo's that are quick some people are very one minded when it comes to this point ive had a few races with things like an m5 for example and it beat me hands down evo's are really quick and i love mine im just not deluded enough to think its the quickest thing on 4 wheels if you know what im saying

Clearly your posting shows that the Evo got beat. They are not the fastest cars out there for sure.

The Skyline can achieve 1600+BHP and is yet to be toppled.

I suspect that the Evo might have been restricted, but a race is a race none the less. The Evo can hit 160 and well beyond.

Like you said buddy, on a street, circuit or road race there would be a different outcome all together.

i know what your saying mate but still how much do you think he spent on that rs lol and mate them new m5 are mental i had a drive of one and the m button is crazy but yet again try and and drive it fast on country road and i bet you you would be all over him !!!!! and mate it its a 5.0 v10 compared to a 2.0 and theres no substitute for cc mate .

I own an Evo IV, i also own an RS Turbo, as in the same one racing that Evo in the video.

the comments on the you-tube page pi**es me right of.
The Escort RS Turbo uses an engine designed in the late 1970's
The Evo that was in the video uses an eninge designed in the late/early 90's/2000's

You just cant compare both cars. Totally in a different era!
As i mentioned i own both Evo and RS, and i may of mentioned the RS is quicker on normal everyday roads. 190BHP on a car with no driving aids, no fancy chassis and a light shell. Plus ive had a higher speed in my RS over my Evo, yes the evo may well be quicker than the RS on the motorway, until both hit limiter. But you need to spend some proper cash to get an RS to out do an 'standard' Evo.

the only good things about Zetec is as follows:
its 16V
its perfect excuse to get stupid powers while fitting it to an RS turbo head,
zetec Block and CVH head= ZVH, but you do lose the torue that the CVH has.
finally Zetec are good to turbo.

i'd guess a 2LTR Zetec is only around 125BHP aswell.
why would anyone want to fork out doing a conversion on a crappy finesse escort.

Meh, Never really got that excited about going fast in a straight line. Doesn't take much skill to change gear and hold on.
I prefer to pedal my cars round the twisties, even more fun on the rough stuff.
