whats the difference?

Ok so I've got an evo 8 n the front reg plate is virtualy square,I've seen a few others flyin about n they've got the normal oblong plate,what's the difference (n for the bennefit of the comedians yes I no the shapes and measurements are different!),or is it jus a cosmetic thing?

It can be either for cosmetic purposes or due to them having a forced induction system in place.

Lol id not thought that hard to be honest,jus noticed it n thought it was a little odd, cheers for clearin it up for me though,I think the square plate looks miles better : )

I'm not bothered if its not legal,my rear one isn't cos its got a mtsi badge on it,pathetic, its still readable, the coppers dun no wots legal n wots not anyway, I think if u can read it from 20mtrs away the rest shouldn't matter,jus my opinion though.

nor is going above 70mph on the motorway but we all do it ive got 3 mates who dont put a front numberplate on at all

Oh indeed, but its about how far you push it. I would imagine if you went say 75-80 you would be ok from the law most of the time but if you go 140, the first time you get seen your going for a trip to the cop shop.

Same with a dodgy plate, push it with a slightly wrong size or spacing you will get away with it most of the time. No plate and your asking for trouble.

Personally I never ever speed and have the correct plates

From wot I understand all evos are imported,I've been told this by both mitsubishi and extreme,its jus if the dealers have them shipped over they rnt classed as imports.

Whaaat didnt know that. I went with the general rule of thumb that jap cars wit square plates were imports unless the owner has put the square plate on but u can normally tell that as the plate does not fit or sit correctly on the bumper.
