A 600bhp build + turbo + ancillaries is more expensive. For example, the build on my engine cost close to £14000

or fit an RS box to a 400ish hp lump and it will probably out accelerate a 600hp on a normal box

You have 460bhp?

To get up to 500, the engine needs work and up-rated parts, unfortunately that step is expensive. My engine is a 1000bhp build, with the correct turbo and a gearbox that won't decide to explode on me, i could quite happily run more power, but then how useable on the road does it become? Not very; just a car with a pub figure.

I'd rather have it at the power it has got at the moment and leave most other things on the road standing and be able to use it as a fun car that's useable. It still odd that the car has had so much work done to it, 3 engines and its only done 13k miles! lol

I even know what happened to them! The original MIVEC was sold to fund the build, the race engine was sold and the current 8 engine is a low mileage MR unit Would LOVE more power for a full pin in your seat feeling, but i don't want to trade the early spool
