It should have been resolved between the owner and said company agreed, i also do happen to wonder why he is posting on behalf of a friend ? surely that must create more friction and speculation?
Most members on here are also on the mlr and will have seen whats been posted by the said trader and will no doubt judge for themselves too, yes it can be damaging for a trader but no trader is ever gonna have 100 out of 100 happy customers, my chippy put a savaloy in my order instead of a normal sausage yesterday it's not gonna stop me from going there again though cos 1 mistake doesn't make him a bad trader just human, i don't think anyone on here in all honesty is gonna be fazed by it, it will be old news next week :)

I can't prove who's wrong or who's right, only they know the truth, the op, friend whoever he is should of sorted it through the proper channels as there seems to be more then meets the eye here. :)

agree :D
as for the savaloy or sausage!! which do you prefer??

Hi all just been spending the last few hours reading the various forums, threads and thought id post.

I know the owner of this car. His a mate of mine and bought the evo after been taken out in my old 8.

Quite unfortunate really, nothing but endless problems with that car. Its spent more time in the garage than actually on the road.
First TR racing does a cowboy job with the engine. And now this saga...
Maybe he should have taken it to CPR just to get a hat trick.

He has spent an excessive amount on it, definately over £10k with them and its still a lemon. I've heard first hand of alot of other horror stories regarding this particular garage. Personally i took it there once and they tried to persuade to get a remap at a cost of £500!! I told them it already had EcuTek and a remap is only £250 as the licensee had already been paid royalty. They wouldnt budge tho. Not a big deal - i wont lose no sleep over it.

The guy is obviously pissed - who wouldn't be when your idles like an asthmatic. We hope you get your back onto the road soon mate, get it sorted and enjoy the thrills of a true evo owner!!

Seems like the op has not had any hard facts to add to his post.

Dynotech repaired the engine that had been built by TR before, which turned up at Dynotech not for mapping but with melted pistons, ildeling issues & faulty starter.

It seems that Dynotech never supplied any NEW coils, the customer bought 1 SECOND HAND coil after the repair that had melted before he arrived at Dynotech.
The customer was then told to replace both coils as these were faulty but still 6 months down the line never took their advise.

Dynotech do not map Motech so an indepdent mapper was called in & did liase with the op or his mate or who ever car it is outside of Dynotech.

Seems strange that Dynotech are taking the wrap for the customers ignorance on the advise given & the mapper apparant cold start & idle issue which in my eyes is not an engine problem.

Seems like there is no issue with the re-build just the mapping which doesn't seem to be Dynotech's problem apart from the mapper used his dyno & does use them for mapping.

They do not advertise to map Motech anywhere i can see from their website or on MLR.

The op seems to have said that Dynotech charged him £1500 per mapping sesson which i suspect is not true, there is no way anyone on this planet would pay this amount of ££ for a re-map.

I phoned Dynotech today to enquire about a base map for Motech & also a full map & they quoted me £400 inc dyno time & they explained to me that they do not map Motech so an indepednet mapper will be called in, so looks like for either map the OP seems to be exagarating some what.

As for the Subaru that was on the dyno i checked this out & that the car also had major issues with an ebay induction kit fitted, it was booked in for mapping but the std airbox had to be fitted back on due to AFR issues & the customer also left with an oustanding bill to pay.

The you tube vid only shows a power run not a mapping session.

The op didn't take the advise given by Bob to buy new coils although he said he did & i've also heard that he booked the car in several times & never even bothered to turn up for the car to be sorted.

I think this thread now needs to be cleared up so this forum can get back to the norm.

Can Admin now clean or lock this thread if there is nothing else to say by the Op. IMHO i think this has gone way too far due to the OP comments to theft etc & should be drawn to a close..

Seriously this is starting to grate a bit now, NO ONE BUT THE TRADER, OWNER OF SAID CAR AND MAPPER KNOWS THE TRUTH !!

So all this tit for tat is childish, what exactly are you all achieving by getting riled up over one members experience ? (wether there is truth or not remains un clear). None of us were there when it all started. So what right do we have to say who's telling the truth or who's lying ? We don't cos none of us were there...

So can we just leave it now...

Relax foxy no one is gettin riled up but its on a community based forum with people. I agree that this should be resolved in an adult manner between the parties but instead its been smeared across our lovely forum no love lost we still have Geoff everything is good :)
