Unless the car is mapped again of course, they have told me to replace my exhaust system based on their hunch that the HKS system is inadequate for 400+ bhp and then come back to them for another map at £500 for rolling road and £500 for the map again. I have been told the price of a remap normally includes the rolling road to map the car, with Hayes engineering, the total price for mapping in this instance would be £1000

Well yea but why run ur car on less power until you get it re mapped again?

Also why get a big brake conversion which was not needed ? unless ur running massive amounts of horse power 600bhp+

I'm just trying to get a clearer picture.

Oh you said earlier it was 2 engine builds.

Come on mate give ue the facts it all seems abit messy.

1 engine build or 2
10K build & £2800 for mapping & dyno

So you spent £12800 with them?????

Facts speak mate..

My mate is looking to take his car there but the facts dont add up..

Please just let us know the facts that would be great:)

I'm not sure why your so defensive and again I don't know where you got £12800 as I said the figures I've given of £1000 is per session of rolling road and mapping ontop of this you've got the price to purchase the parts and labour costs, the total of all these together as said before is in excess of £10k, as I said one engine rebuild and 2 remaps. So that means I've had them modify 2 engines. Once when I first took it to them, then again when they rebuilt it - as there is no point mapping a standard engine. But only 1 engine rebuild was done by them and I don't have an exact figure of how much I've spent but I'm not sure why that would be of use to you, it is in excess of £10k, it is a vast sum for me and I would imagine it would be for anyone with a family to support.

Get car to another tuners to solve any gremlins you have but buy coil packs. Mike is right this will just turn out bad. As Geoff said this is a friendly forum so let's get back to the norm.

Get a newbie post up buddy tell us a bit about your self and get some pics up of the car and clear this up for me the said car is it urs or ur mates?

MMM looks like you have been rumbled mate, you don't know how much you spent but over £10k & over £1000 per mapping session just doesn't add up.

MLR boys have seen straight through you, one post said 2 engine builds now only 1. only 2 mapping sessions it was said before there was 3-4

When did you have the engine rebuild????

Who mapped the car??

It would seem that you have read the thread over on MLR forum, I'm not sure how it is that you have come to the conclusion that what the owner had said is true without questioning him at all but I've posted dyno plots showing how inadequate his work is, a cold start of my car recently taken after the map and then I'm getting interrogated about my expenses about whether this is my car or not. I don't think I would be posting in the first place if firstly I did not have a problem with the car and secondly I did not own the car.

No i don't agree with that at all, the thread should not be getting closed down, for what reason do you have to warrant that? one guys opinon does not mean everyone else's views are the same, i for one am not fazed by he's comments with the trader in question cos i'm an adult and have a mind of my own, so would not judge a person by someone elses comments or remarks !

this is NOT the MLR we don't close down threads cos someone gets a bee in their bonnet, there is a section for rogue or rose so he is within he's rights to have he's say just like everyone else.

the trader in question isn't even on here so whats the problem?

I'm not taking sides but i really don't think the trader is gonna lose any custom over this one incident, as they have a huge fan base on the MLR and are a big company.

As i said in my previous post i don't judge anyone on another persons say so and i am in NO way a sheep!!! a cow maybe but not a sheep :)

I would not just go by one persons say so, he says he's un happy but look over the road and see how many people are happy customers with him.

It should have been resolved between the owner and said company agreed, i also do happen to wonder why he is posting on behalf of a friend ? surely that must create more friction and speculation?
Most members on here are also on the mlr and will have seen whats been posted by the said trader and will no doubt judge for themselves too, yes it can be damaging for a trader but no trader is ever gonna have 100 out of 100 happy customers, my chippy put a savaloy in my order instead of a normal sausage yesterday it's not gonna stop me from going there again though cos 1 mistake doesn't make him a bad trader just human, i don't think anyone on here in all honesty is gonna be fazed by it, it will be old news next week :)

I can't prove who's wrong or who's right, only they know the truth, the op, friend whoever he is should of sorted it through the proper channels as there seems to be more then meets the eye here. :)
