imo the d/v is fitted as standard to reduce..... and noise.
A story that I've heard more than once over the years: When Audi first starting selling turbocharged cars, customers were returning their nice shiny new cars because they were making 'chattering' noises. Audi then fitted them with recirc' valves to quieten them down, and keep their customers happy. True? Who knows, but as I said, I've heard it more than once :whistling:
Another question is, who is it that says running without a dv damages the turbo/reduces lag, etc? 9 times out of 10 the companies that make/sell the dump valves in the first place :wtf:
As you might be able to guess, I'm not a fan of dv's

, but I've not run one in 12 years of owning turbocharged cars, and I've never had a turbo problem. I do drive like Miss Daisy though
