Reversing the recirc dump valve

think you'll find running anti-lag will damaged a turbo much before running no dump valve.....

imo the d/v is fitted as standard to reduce..... and noise.

A story that I've heard more than once over the years: When Audi first starting selling turbocharged cars, customers were returning their nice shiny new cars because they were making 'chattering' noises. Audi then fitted them with recirc' valves to quieten them down, and keep their customers happy. True? Who knows, but as I said, I've heard it more than once :whistling:

Another question is, who is it that says running without a dv damages the turbo/reduces lag, etc? 9 times out of 10 the companies that make/sell the dump valves in the first place :wtf:

As you might be able to guess, I'm not a fan of dv's , but I've not run one in 12 years of owning turbocharged cars, and I've never had a turbo problem. I do drive like Miss Daisy though

There tends to be alot of different opinions on this subject,

Do you
1 have some sort of pressure relief to keep the turbo spooling as best possible, but then having to re-build pressure when the throttle re-opens

Or
2 have no pressure relief meaning more pressure on the turbo blades and slowing the turbo down, but you keep the pressure there ready for when the throttle opens back up.

i don't think it makes such a difference to spool time, tho the theory is there. I recommend trying without a DV and see what you think.
