The rich tell the rich to tell the middle classes to blame the poor.

All politicians are wastes of space, corrupt and the best con artists in the world, christ! Look at how cameron and co got into power!

They are all the same, both chat BS trying to round up as many sheep as possible, while being in the pocket of banker, insurance companies and media giants

F them all IMO

Mario id say thats spot on love her or hate her she certainly new how to run the country, she stood for no crap, the thing is yes she tangled with trade unions etc but look back at the time industry was consantly on strikes! How can the country run if its always striking you cant run a buisness like that etc, this is a small part of what she did always remembered the one thing she did do was make sure our country was armed and dangerous and ready to show how great we was now were just imigrant britain

Yes Craig She knew Britian was Great and wanted the world to know it! Take the Prime example with British Leyland...went on strike due to a bloody puddle FFS!

Why didn't somebody just un-block the drain or sweep the water away!!! No they just wanted to hold the Country to ransom and get big wages for it!

It is a sad day... Sure we don't all agree with everything that she did but like has been said she was very strong and I think she had some qualities that today's leaders lack.

Her economic policy was pretty dir now or is it just a conservative trait as the government is no better lol.. Who loves depression ;)

I very much doubt Thatcher would of let these companies make billion's like the goverment have now! And I very much doubt she would let the bankers receive million's in bonus's :arms: her own party outed her and things then took a different road and in some case's clearly not for the better:shock:

You dont get it. Once she privatised them they are not owned or governed buy our government (who ever is in power) so they can charge and make what ever they like. They can not be regulated because she sold them. She was not clever, she did not have vision and as for an iron lady, I would have said stubborn bitch.

And being run by the government is better?
If you think privatisation is the wrong thing you're deluded.

Thats a pretty bold statement and attack on my opion with nothing but "and being run by the government is better?" To back it up with. If your so pro privatisation then give me some hard facts on why you think its so great before you run your mouth and start calling me deluded.

Very passionate indeed. Selling council houses, shares in power company's not the greatest decision. But apart from poll tax being removed since her reign all other policies are still intact and working well today and is part of England, so if she done so much wrong surely all memory of her reign would be removed by changing her policies

Its fairly basic, there is no one more driven to make sure a business is a success than its owners.
Take for example the MOD paying £20 for light bulbs.
And look at the mess the BT infrastructure was in. It has taken years to dig themselves out of that mess left by a severe lack of investment. (Im not saying the are good by the way, just a hell of a lot better than they would have been)
And sure some of the implementations have hindered progression (such as the 7 year train franchises).
Im not 'so pro privitasation', I just truely believe that in private hands they will function better than being run by any government.

And as for them being unable to be governed and regulated because they have been sold, what are the regulated industries all about then?
Of course they can be regulated. They set the rules in which companies have to operate. If they dont follow them they can not operate in them industries. Its a far better place to be as the government can be 'impartial' (in speech marks because its not really truly impartial) rather than having a conflict of interests.

I have faith in Cameron, he doesn't come across as the sort to take us to war but I think if the time come he would be a hell of a lot more capable than that sodding miliband, who will as soon as he is in power start givin money to the lazy people again. There are some stark chanes happening at the mo and I am in favour of all. If you have a room in a government paid home that's not being used, pay for it! Or let the gov move you somewhere more suitable. You have a disability that has got better over time.... Well you don't need all that money and benefits now do you. Do you really need sky tv or that bottle of vodka? Get a job gggrrrrrrrrrrr

Job seekers allowance is there to help look for a job not laugh at those that have jobs. Thatcher would have it sorted!!

Makes my blood boil !!!!!

How will any of those industies fail when everyone in the county relies on them, the progress and investment may have been sped up but at what cost? And what happens once they have been improved, they get greedy. Along time ago they realised they had us, the consumer by the balls and they have squeased. No matter what you say about regulations, there is so much red tape and hoops to jump through nothing will ever be attempted. Example, energy companies; Ofgen regulate there tarrifs to make sure we understand what were paying for and to make sure were not being ripped off, they also make sure that the companies are being competitive. However if all the companies raise there prices by near on 20% then what can Ofgen do. Nothing, because there still competitive with each other and that benefits all of them.

I'm out of the debate, traded points, leaving it at that. Agree to disagree is what I say :)

Who said they would fail?
Run by the state they would exist. Just be utter rubbish and costing stupid amounts via tax.

What?
When do you stop improving?
You never get to a point and just sit back and stop (or if you do you are on the road to failure).
Capitalism just brings in the best results for the economy. Simples. :)

On what basis do you really think being state run would be better. State run organisations are far more bureaucratic and tend to only improve when performance become so dire that it becomes politically sensitive.
