evos

this is what you have to be prepared for with evos most people dont take the maintaince costs and unexpected problems which most evo will have sooner or later into consideration when buying

I am sure he is prepared, it is his second Evo buddy.

True, he is a little upset right now, he might just be in a better mood once it's sorted!!!

i payed 800 for a clutch/flywheel 5 yrs ago :disgusted::disgusted::disgusted: but prices have come down a lot, do the tests el told you to do, then get some wanted threads up asap, there are pleanty of people who do sprints etc will have a good second hand clutch saving you houndreds of pounds :) or even ring round the traders :):) starting with traders here :wub:

I think El might be right! (I just skip read clutch has gone)

take the car out for a blast and floor it in top gear, if the revs start rising at any point and not in relation to speed (slipping) then yeah its knackered.

its rare for a clutch to go in respect of not being able to select gears.

do the gears select easier after 'pumping' the clutch peddle?
does the bite point feel the same?

....if the clutch is fubbered then you could always fix it yourself (as long as you know your way around a spanner)

does the peddle feel the same as usual?

any strange noises when trying to operate the clutch? (engine running)

have you checked around master and slave cylinder for any signs of leaks?
