My New 4

Picked my new 4 up yesterday and I love it. It seems to have a good spec list with which to start from. Any advice gladly recieved.......

Spec:
Forged pistons Aria +1mm o/s
Steel Conrods Eagle H beam
Std Crankshaft Micropolished
Cylinder rebore +1mm o/s
Overhaul Cylinder head and reface
Recut all valves and reseat
New modified hydraulic lifters
Steel competition headgasket
Timing belt and balance
17inch evo 5 o.z alloys
evo 6 brembo brakes
3" straight through Fujitsubo Giken Exhaust from turbo back.
hks mushroom filter
hks dump valve
denso tommi makinen fuel pump
Two - way fm lcd alarm system fitted it has remote central locking, remote start up and a remote turbo timer all built in
Std evo 4 recaro interior
Hks boost gauge

Hi Rob,

It has had a custom respray on the bonnet, roof and tail, in what I can only describe as a sort of marble effect. the guy who did it has made a fantastic job of the paintwork.

figures wise it is just running 1.2 boost and running about 300, so i'm led to believe, so any advice on where i should go next to get more out of it would be grately recieved i.e upgrade turbo etc etc as I know nothing about these things whatsoever.

I know how they do the marble effect paintwork:whistling: It's wet paint then laid with clingfilm:disgusted: Then lifted to give effect then layered with laquer, just so you know

boost upto 1.3 or even 1.5 if mapped well enough. Get the engine block number to confirm its still the 4 block. If its also a newer block you can push it alot further with the mods your running

no other mods except a new walbro fuel pump if its just a tme pump your running

Was gonna ask is a tommi pump uprated over a standard pump Rob?

Ahhh I wondered how they did the paint like that? I haven't got a clue on the fuel pump. Oh and it's got EVO 6 gearbox and diff.

Dont mean to sound stupid but how do i up the boost, is that done via the re-map?

tme pump should be std, walbro would be an upgrade

up the boost using manual or electronic boost controller or 3port solenoid via the ecu

if your running 1.2bar it has been turned up already as std is 0.8, possibly via an uprated actuator with stiffer spring
