My Evo IV Picture Thread.

Brought back in September 2009, after its 1st wash, wax and polish

From early days i was never a big fan of the standard 16' OZ F1 Racing alloys and had plans for a Brembo conversion.
It took a few months to let the tyres on the 16' wear down enough to look into the Evo VI Super Turismo alloys.

Mid March i managed to get hold of some recently refurbed Alloys in Gun Metal Grey these 4 alloys set me back £250.
Then had to save up for some tyres. I got them from Camskill.com, didnt bother with the top spec tyres as i wasn't 100% sure on fitment so opted for 225/45/17(standard evo VI size) Kenda tyres, £210 posted. £20 fitted from a friends friend.


This is how it looked beggining of may(ready for M.O.T)

I had already looked into the brembos back in March and got a full set of calipers, Hel hoses and Rear OMP Pads in a matter of weeks, setting me back almost £400. Lastly i needed discs. I did plenty of research before opting to buy just Grooved discs.

After getting in touch with a friend to fit them we managed to get the full set up fitted yesterday(26.07.10)

There was some problems from the start. Genuine Mitsubishi bolts dont fit Evo IV hubs. altough every other guide i had read through on MLR had said they did, they are however a few mm too long. So once fitted the bolts fouled the discs stopping the car from moving, off to a local car outlet to get some strong washers. Some hours later the end result is as follows:

I must say this is how ALL Evo IVs should of came from factory.

looks amazing matey, were the calipers brand new?? did it come with the wind deflectors when you bought it as would love some for mine???

Calipers came off an Evo VII with 60,000ish miles. painted them myself as they were pink and decal was flaking.

Whats this wind deflector you ask about?

unless you mean the window things? if thats what they are called, cant remember?
if so, they are standard fitment from factory. most jap cars have them.

yeh its the plastic trim that goes over the side windows, mine hasnt got em and have heard they are quite rare????

They are not rare at all. It is just that the UK spec cars only had them as an optional extra. They are quite easy to come by too. I am sure that Steevo may have a set. If not, then get back to me right here buddy.

Carbon Fibre Wrapped the door frames:

As professional as you can get, weather strips removed and wind delectors removed.

Next job is the sand and repaint the rear door frame, couldn't wrap it as it'll look crap.(look at pic)

Don't look hate it when the previous owner DIY stuff himself. Fixing other peoples faults ain't great.

pop down here and gladly do it. the sticky foam from the wind defllectors is a messy job.

Oh and it was done in the rain(umbrella) with a hand from a friend. Deffo a 2 man job, making sure everything is perfect.

Jokes aside, that is a good job and you are a true enthusiast, something that I have noticed in the majority of RS owners that I know.

Thanks El, i just hate bad bits on good cars which put the whole car down. It deffo makes the car look alot fresher though.

Looking good as always Mark, can't wait to Carbon wrap my door frames. It's such an easy (but time consuming) & cheap job to do and makes a hell of a difference to the overall apperance of the car.

doing a bufty tomorrow, After seeing your Evo today im going to clean the interior and degrease engine bay.

Gave the evo a bufty session today, not finished it yet. Done the interior and the boot. The space saver has never been used and came up very nice after a polish.

Need to do the engine bay and exterior before any pics.

You polished the spare tyre!:arms: :shock:

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my cars as you well know Mark, but not even i go that far! haha, A quick wipe over maybe, but not a polish.

Anyway, looking forward to the pics.

not the tyre itself, the metal. i dont have a wooden piece and its filtfy
i tried the 'wipe', but it didnt work.
