what sort of reading would you suspect.....if it's only breaking down when hot....put up a post around this sort of thing only happening to mine at 6000rpm....don't think its the plugs, but maybe the coil packs...

What do you think??

I can see people are having pretty good success diagnosing the coilpacks by measuring the resistance across pins 2&3 on the coilpack plug.

should read about 1.3-1.4kohm

cars with issues seem to be getting readings around 0.5-0.6kohm.

is 2 & 3 going clockwise starting at top left? (i believe there are 4 pins are in a square formation or am i wrong?)

mine did that stutter/missfire thing the other day again it only seems to happen after im hoofing it, stop, then start again  so think its affected by heat also..

forgive my ignorance as i haven't actually got under the bonnet to look at them...but are these pins really obvious or is there a pic somewhere...

When you remove the Plug Cover on the Rocker Cover buddy you will understand what we are talking about.

yep thats right mate, looks like the packs are a bit poo, do you have some you can borrow to make sure......but either way looks like you need some better ones.

(I've just checked an old set of mine and they both read 1.5kohm, so yours are definately over the hill)

the only thing i found with tesco 99 momentum is it burns it quicker than v-power and also pops more from the exhaust!
