help shaking when breaking

:cry:hi all im gettin a shake on my steering wheel wen breakin over 40 mph im thinkin of gettin new discs but i think the wheel bearing on the passange side is on its way out starting to get a hummm wen over 60 mph do u think it could b the bearing ??? been looking around and a few people have said this fingers crossed

This could easily be wheel bearing too buddy (Marios shout isn't wrong though) I'm having the exact same trouble but my brakes are good! Performance friction jobbies.

Mine goes mental when I turn hard right too so changing the passenger side front bearing first.

Shaking under braking will be discs most likely, and the rumble is suspicious of bearing,

i will change the bearing first is there anyway i can check if they are warped i got told to take it to get them skimmed that it would b cheaper

its strange they are workin fine below 40 mph no judder bit of speed and bam

What brakes you running? Standard set up?

The problem is deposits left on the braking surface on the disk, happens if you hold the brakes on at traffic lights etc when they're hot.

You could do some high speed breaking so 100mph-10mph do it a few times and see if it improves them.

Failing that I'd buy new, skimming is fine though just depends on price.

Another possiblilty is the nearside steering arm, excessive play in the track rod end ball joint could result in the wheel trying to toe in under braking force causing the tyre to scrub/judder.

Normally if you have warped brake disks you'll feel a pulsing in the pedal.

If you just jack up the side you think its coming from and check for play top to bottom and side to side you'll rule out most possibilities

pedal feels ok just steering wheel i was just readin that on another forum about pedal im new to all this stuff but love to learn lol think i mite get it in a garage for them to have a look or wait till sunday and ask a few at GR what they think

Done this and the bearing feels fine. Also replaced the inner rack arms and tie rod ends with genuine ones.

I'm going to do my bearing then attempt to find some cheap discs and see if that makes a difference.
