wot airfilter have you got at the moment??? maybe a picture of under your bonnett will help us. also you have 2 types of mapping that can be offered you, a ecutek or a geeked map. i have ecutek but ide still like to see how a geeked map would run on my car. there are other types of maps but these 2 are used the most :) do you have a boost controller?? and you will need a uprated walbro fuel pump. the experts will be along shortly to add to this thread :):):):)

The cars standard apart from new dump valve and soon a decat, hmm I may leave the launch control as my clutch is fine at the moment so I couldnt justify the expense just for launch control,it would be great if any one did like a kit for a certain price with things I needed! So what'd the difference between them types of maps? Gloucesters abit far for me really I don't mind going as far as the Birmingham area as I go to extreme Uk for my services

If ya go to extreme for services then ya better off going to el, hell of a lot cheaper and recommended very highly by extremes other business half coordsport (Ex RalliArt)!

On from there to Russ which is a 30 minute drive and jobs a goodun! I got plans to see Russ soon enough too!

Keep away from PJ who is a loonatic (recommended by extreme for mappin, laughed at by everyone else in the game, a genuine muppet by all accounts who blows engines up on a daily basis):whistling:

to make the most out of a map you want -

decat
uprated panel filter (maybe induction kit......but not really needed imo)
walbro fuel pump
and either a 3 port boost solenoid to replace your existing one or a aftermarket boost controler (electronic or manual)

there is no difference performance wise between ecutek and ecuflash (aka 'geekmapping') - its just different software that does the same job.

......except you have a lot more option/add ons available with ecuflash - and its a hell of a lot cheaper!

think that covers it :)

prices (supposedly) range from a bag of chips to about £250

off the top of my head - extra add ons that can be done with ecuflash are

NLTS - no lift to shift (full throttle gear changes)

valet mode - to set a low rpm limit or similar if your leaving the car with someone

knock CEL - flashes the engine light if the car is detonating (which is real bad) - (I could not live without this add on now)

twin maps - a map for regular petrol and one for race fuel maybe.

launch control

mild antilag

thats all I can think of for now.

the restriction on standard evo is the turbo mate not the filter box, some lads are running 450+ on the standard airbox with the 'airbox mod' (basicaly cutting a open section into the box)

on the op's car (evo8 fq340) I'd guess about 380bhp (realistic dyno power) and a lot smoother drive.

How does nlts work? And do I need my dump valve to be recitculating for mild anti lag?

you have a switch on your clutch peddle, you can set the parameters in the ecu so when the clutch is pushed it will drop the rpm to a set amount so that you can keep your foot planted on the throttle during gearchanges.
