hi just wanted to know is there anyway of adjusting the fanbelt on my car as its squeeling at low revs i dont think its the lower cam pulley wheel as i replaced it 3months ago

Not sure on an evo should imagine the same as any other car,but surely you should be able to adjust the alternator otherwise you wouldn't be able to change the belt.

the evo's have a spring loaded tensioner so it should be self adjusting,

Yup, as And said, they are spring loaded and self adjusting, but the bearing in the spring loaded tensioner can and will wear out, in turn causing it to squeel. Some people replace the bearings only with ones from eBay and bearing shops, etc. I replaced the whole unit.

TBH, if it's squeeling, then time for a change IMO.

New one is approx £160, can get them from Camskill. I got mine from Ant@Indigo-GT, who gets his from Co-Ordsport. Still cost me approx £160, might be cheaper if you go direct to Co-Ordsport.

Genuine Mitsu part from Camskill too. As for how easy to fit, dunno, garage did mine along with cambelt, balance shaft belt, all tensioners & idlers, aux belt, and a few other bits & bobs.

Looks a bit tight to get into, but other than that I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult.

Tensioner is easy to change.

Remove offside front wheel.
Remove plastic cover to acces bottom pulley area
Using a half inch square drive ratchet insert it into half inch square socket on face of tensioner and rotate anti clockwise until you have released enough tension from the belt to pull it off the bottom pulley.
Then remove the 12 & 14mm bolts that secure the tensioner in place

Job done now reverse these steps to re-fit
