ok wen the ECU is in diagnostic mode what does it bypass? cause what ever it bypasses is what is affecting my car from revving.

oh and i still cant get the evoscan software connected, it stops wen it says ""waiting for init response"" then goes on to rety again.

Can't find anything at the moment :(

Get evoscan 2.7 and use that, not the latest 2.8

Maybe try and get someone with the tactrix 2.0 cable instead to have a look or flash out the codes using pin 1 + 4
It could be -
cable you've bought is faulty
OBD port has been messed with (as per someone else on here and had to have it rewired)
Evoscan program you have is faulty or not running correctly on your operating system

Make sure you use the latest v2.8 it has 100's of less bugs in it. RsvRob, if v2.8 has a bug, let me know so that i can fix it for v2.9 which is about to be released.

Plugging this cable in should allow your dash lights to blink, and will ensure diagnostic mode.

when the cable is plugged in, does the dash lights flash consistently or does it flash with shorts and longs?

Ignore the red plug hanging out the side, that is where a white 12pin adapter used to be when the cable was sold, the owner must of lost it. the extension plug is only used for reflashing evo7/8/9 and you don't need to use it.

If you have an evo4 ecu, you should really be looking to upgrade the ecu to evo7 ecu, and flashing in some tephramods and ralliart roms, which are free.

Good to have you aboard... been running 2.7 for 6 months with no issues. Did post up on your website about the issues I had running 2.8 but no response so reverted back to 2.7. Don't really want to try it again as everything crashed on me and had to buy new laptop to start again with newest ecuflash and 2.7 evoscan

nope no problems like that with v2.8, in my experience I had less bug reports with v2.8 than v2.7thats for sure. perhaps it was just a matter of cleaning out v2.7 and starting with v2.8. Give it another try, and let me know directly on here any issues. I would like to not have any bugs at all for v2.9 if I can help it. would you like to beta test v2.9 instead? send me a PM on here, I'll get you the link for the beta version.

hi thanks for your reply.

the engine man light and ayc light flash constantly but the abs light stays constantly lit.

i cant seem to get the software to comunicate with my car, out of interest would you happen to know why my car will rev with the 1.3 lead plugged in but as soon as i disconect it it will not rev past 2k?

i have put post on evoscan site about my prob but no reply as of yet

there is an option in the logging menu to turn off the cel and ayc light flashing, are you still running the 4 ecu?

nah I'm running the evo7 ecu in my evo4 now.

Logging works perfectly with EvoScan on my old evo4 ecu for all 3ecus: ayc abs and efi ecus.

there must be some faulty or tweaked wiring in your evo4.
