Need help again guys, seem to be banging my head against an evoscan brick wall.
problem is evoscan is picking up an egr temp of -91, is this right cos the egr doesn't have a temp sensor does it?
and does anyone know where i can view a screen shot to compare my readings?

I don't think there is a sensor for that. Are you running a decat? If so then any sensor that might be showing a reading for egr will be disconnected. As the cat had a temp sensor originally.

yeah got no cat but sensor is still connected under the drivers seat.
they need to right a dummies guide to evoscan lol, so us newbies have little clue as to what is what and what it should read correctly.

If the wiring is still there for the sensor to the cat. It should be connected to itself or will show an engine management light. As its not getting any proper readings the evoscan data won't either. Besides the fact the sensor is just an overheat not an actual egt sensor...

Basically you won't get any proper readings via evoscan for egt as you don't have one

So I just need to bridge the wires in the plug then and do away with the sensor?

it definately throws the light on with it off, it fitted at the min under my seat.
just wasnt sure about the evoscan reading, thought it couldn't be right.
would still like to dee some good screen shots of evoscan on another evo so i could compare my readings though.

not sure what the newer versions of evoscan are like but I use one of the older ones and it was a right pain in the harris to get it to read the parameters I wanted (unless your a wiz with computers)

so never bothered updating as I didn't want more hassle with it.

-91 is defo not right, the sensor itself could have failed in range or the address where evoscan gets the info from is incorrect, IMO I wouldn't worry too much about if the mil lights off, are you just doing logging for mapping or for something else?

i'm trying to find out whats breaking down.
idle is a little erratic, but not as bad now since i set it up properly, but i have a fault that only happens every so often, either the revs will drop or they will pick up while ticking over and you can slightly feel it when moving.
changed all the usual now.
was checking to see if i was getting an erratic reading from the crank.

Evoscan won't read 4/5/6 ecu fault code

What other conditions are there when you get the idle issue still? Don't forget the car is 15/16 years old. So a damn good clean of all parts could be needed. Or a deteriaton of electrical components could be occuring.
I previously had a non starter problem after the engine was warm. It would start fine cold and run fine. But once warm it wouldn't start. All because the cam sensor got affected by heat.
