On a dyno dynamics you have to get the car to climb onto the front set of rollers to get accurate / repetable figures, if you strap them so the car doesn't climb, you get false low readings as the 2nd set of rollers add excess drag.

Still if they were 20bhp down that day for whatever reason, mine still made 600bhp in that case lol.

Was yours on on the same day Russ???

El
Yeh I put it on at the end of the day.

I had tweaked the map on the road since the previous time it was on the dyno, so it was down on power on this day 577bhp iirc where as previously it was 614bhp.

However when I recalled the previous graph to compare the 2, and compared the datalogs it was obvious to me why there was 30+bhp missing.

It was running 1.1 afr richer on this day, and when I tweaked it on the road I rescalled the ecu, which meant I was running around 4° less timing than previously.

After I tweaked it again on the road, making it leaner and adding the timing back in, the next time it went on the same dyno it pulled 616, followed by 618 and then 623bhp.

Keep meaning to get it back on the dyno to see what it's putting out now as since then I changed the exhaust housing from the .63 to the .82.

Well I guess you need to fine tweak and get it on the rollers for a final fling and see what it pushes out then;)

Whatever the final figure, it will only enhance the all round appeal of your Evo.

The way you have set the entire car up is awesome enough regardless of what the printout tells you.

Your Evo is one of those that just says potential all over it:D:D:D

Yeh it will make whatever it makes, it goes well enough (too well for the road tbh).

It has plenty of potential for whatever you want to do with it, track, race, drag etc etc just sadly I have no time or interest for it anymore.

You make it sound like you've out grown it buddy!!!!

El

Not outgrown it, it's just the project is completed and I don't really get the time to use it anymore.

Would rather have the cash in my back pocket than a car sat there that I don't get to use ;)

Well if you get a X then I might have to give you my mobile number;)

The amount of grief they give, is it really worth it:confused:

Without being biassed, I have driven a couple of Evo X's, including an X RS that had only done 400km when it was bought and was 100% stock.

After a few K had been thrown at it (19x11" Rays with 265 tyres, 3 way adjustable coilovers, decat, filter and remap running between 330 - 350bhp) it felt very heavy and slow (not too bad off the line, but didn't do much after.

It was the same on the road and track, altho the coilovers did make it corner pretty well but then you would hope so when spending 3.5k on coilovers.

I would think you would need well over 700bhp in an X to make it feel anything like a 600bhp Evo 6 RS ;)

You don't much work on the X's ???

I HATE working on them, there nearly as bad as a subaru to work on (well removing turbo's etc etc).
