I wasn't happy with the paint job so the shell has been shot blasted and etch primed and is coming back tomorrow in etch primer.

Too be honest I wasn't 100% happy with the work the 1st Bodyshop done so the car has been moved to a new one....a little more expensive but worth it now it's gone this far. I was surprised because this Bodyshop is renowned. A little bit gutted but let's put it this way I got my money back.

We have now got a spit to roll the car over and do the underside white again

Will update with pictures tomorrow.

I was wondering what's been happening to this. What was wrong exactly ?

Basically it is someone I know who owns the Bodyshop...he done me an amazing price, the car ended up being pushed to one side and taking ages because I think he under priced it, then I think he put one of his lads on it rather than doing it himself

The underside wasn't very good when painted white because they didn't take it back to metal properly...hence why it was then shutz...then when I was popping down there to check up on the car the quality of work I was seeing really annoyed me like prepping the bumpers with out taking the splitters off etc

Then I went to collect wings and they had just painted the inner wings over rust without scotching it back

Then the shell still had tiny nicks in it where they hadn't prepped it properly (like when seat belts get trapped in door shuts etc)

They also didn't do there research on rust bullet which is not supposed to be painted over sealer and I blew the entire engine bay back to rust bullet with an air gun

So basically the job was horrendous and I was really not happy....I got most of my money back

I have now taken the car to another friends Bodyshop but the wait is much longer and the price is double but at least it will be done properly now , he wasn't happy unless the shell was blasted to guarantee there were no hidden nasties underneath....so the new Bodyshop have all of the panels in primer and have the shell arriving today having been blasted and in etch primer...

So it's taken ages but I wanted it done right. I will update with pics later ;)

The shell was delivered back from the blasters today ....the engine bay and underside have been blasted back to bare metal and then painted in primer for transport. The new spit arrives Tuesday so will get some better pics then

Should be around four weeks until it's painted now.

The underside and bay is now in paint.....after a long time spent on prep. After being soda blasted the Bodyshop have spent a lot of time and effort on prepping the car ....even pulling out jack points that people had used incorrectly....

Oh and it's now Palma red
