So technically there are NO stages. As they are set by the person selling a product. You could potentially say adding any single part as a separate stage.
So remap, decat, fuel pump, air filter, exhaust, equals stage 5

It is generally regarded that stage 1 takes you to the limit on std internals. By only adding the simple upgrades as per the link from earlier in this thread

No there are stages and the results all vary depending on what parts you fit, ie a walbro fuel pump or a Bosch or a 2.75" exhaust or a true 3" and then all hangs on the map as to what you get out of it. Internals come in stage 3. The link loosely explains what one particular tuner using their selected parts and their particular mapping technique.

Don't go chasing figures or it'll end in tears

But it's good for 400 on full stage 1 mods.

That's is wise words, it shouldn't be about chasing power should be more about how the car feels.

Stock mr turbo would give much over 400bhp so looking 80 series but then you have to consider what the rods will put up with.

Was about to say that's really good but seen its on SD so that makes sense, wouldn't mind running speed density on my car.. Lots of benefits to be had :D

Great figure that Nick :)

Thing is my times on the strip and v box data back the power graph.
Also car wasn't mapped on a dyno ,so i guess if i wanted i could have it fetled on a dyno to make more.
Car also gets hammered at sprints pod and trackdays and proves it's self time and time again.
Not a dyno queen thats for sure.

Not saying your car was mapped on the dyno Nick for one minute!! We all know it was mapped on Ceefax page 888!! (That's a joke by the way)

You know for a fact (As I know your not stupid) If the BP figure is set lower it increases the BHP! Next time your out and about on a Dyno Willy waving day google that days BP and get them to use that IE type in 1015 instead of 980!

Nice to think all the Halfords bolt on bits we crave some much for make a difference when fitting them to our cars on a Saturday morning!

Tell me this though Nick how you say your V box data and quarter mile times prove your car is running 424bhp? I just don't get that bit! To me it just says you and your car can get it's power down quicker and better than others can.

Tbh if your car was running 424bhp on standard internals don't you think it would of gone bang by now?

Genuine questions and thoughts BTW before you start spitting feathers.

My times have gone up over a second over the last year James in different states of tune.
I thought you would know that you need to up the power a good bit to gain a little time on the strip.
Car as ran the same spec other than engine mods.
Ie same tyres no weight taken out.
going down the pod saturday are you coming.
Thats if my car lasts hey.
Way i see it ,if i had cpp stickers on the side it would be a good result.
Never mind as they say haters gonna hate.
Looking forward to the next shiney bits thread from you.

Use the funker ..lol.
