I think that the engine in the link is no way worth that much, regardless of whatever work it has had done to it.

El
i paid £1900 for an evo 8 engine with all auxcilliries, with 31000 miles + paperwork to prove (v5 and mot's of donor car)

Hi guys

We've just registered with the forum to read Ollie's threads, on this issue with the so called 6 engine being fitted into his Evo 4, because they were in the car's history paperwork when we brought it!!!!

Yes we are the lastest owners of this car.

We were sold the car as an Evo 4 with evo 6 engine and gearbox upgrades! And today thanks to Mark in Powys who we were about to buy a Rallyart evo7 ecu from, we've found out that it's a 4 with all 4 running gear.

GUTTED!!!

I know now that we should have checked the block numbers etc, but with tipex reading Evo 6 on the block and gearbox and (some) of Ollie's e-mails and invoices in the history pack, we assumed everything to be correct!

Ollie's please could you update us on what happened? Or anyone else that knows the outcome.

Many thanks

Jas

I'm sorry if my post has offended anyone, but it was not a dig at Ollie or anyone else on the forum.

All I'd like to know is the outcome either from Ollie or any of the others guys who were talking it through will Ollie. Ollie wasn't the person I bought the car from, so I have no axe to grind there.

Also this is my first ever post on a forum.

Sorry me again!

And reading back my posts it does sound as if I'm having a go, but I'm not.

I was so pleased to have found an evo4 which is the design I like with an evo6 engine already in it, so I could do any additional upgrades that I wanted to.

There's over £2,500 of new bits sitting in my kitchen waiting to go on the car and it now looks like it's going to be such a waste of time and money to do because I won't get the performance I wanted.

Out of curiosity, I just wanted to know how Ollie had got on or did he just sell the car on?

I'm now at the point of, I do wait for the engine to go pop and do the upgrade later or sell the car as it is and look for a new Evo 5 or 6 to play with. Problem is that she looks good and runs like a dream and I'm really enjoying driving her.

Cheers

Jas

Hi Skippy,

Just seen your post! Basically mate, I got screwed over by a company in Oldham, nr Manchester and I still haven't taken it up with them properly yet. They quoted me for an evo 6 engine which had done 23k and I paid for an evo 6 engine. But the F**KING W**KERS put an evo 4 block/engine back in the car or just re-paired the damaged block.

Give me a shout if you want to know anything else mate.

Cheers,
