took the car out last night and all was good then a very brief loss of power and the engine warning light flashed on and off,is it safe to drive it to a garage to get it looked at and should i be worried?

Jus give it a quick check over, see that nothing's noticeably wrong in the engine bay, check ya oil level ok, take it down the garage and get a comp put on.......

If the car has been mapped its on a cross over on the map if u went a little harder on the throttle it would just go past it

Was it turbo stall ?

Sometimes when putting foot down in a high gear on a hill you can get compressor stall which is just at the point it's building boost quicker then the car can increase engine speed so the boost control let's the boost go then builds it again :)

did you disconnect the battery after the engine light came up ?

If you didnt then , one cause ould be a knock sensor mapped in to the engine light ...some geeks put it on when there mapping...stevey's got it on his III (I think)

i havnt no,it did come on then went straight off again and a quick loss of power 3 times on drive to garage, seemed to coincide with having the air con on or could have been a coincedence?if i disconnect the battery wouldnt that cause me probs with the immobiliser?

no the immobiliser SHOULD be fine in effect...which immobiliser do you have ?

does it have a in-car fob (a little stick you press in to a plug on car) or does it have a key fob job..if it has both it will be fine ...if its a cobra alarm then re-programming is P.O.P anyways PM me for details on reprogramming if you need it !
