Does this look like a bad CPS?

The immobiliser would have been an after market device that was fitted at a later date.

If you just have a key and no fob then you probably do not have an immobiliser fitted.

Have you tried a little cold start spray to aid the firing up process???

I'm going to grab some starter fluid tomorrow and spray it down the intake manifold while cranking I guess. I do smell the fuel getting to the cylinders though. Hopefully something will give.

I'm thinking it has to be kind of fuel issue, spark issues usually throw some kind of engine code. The car running perfectly fine with no engine codes, baffling. Maybe fuel pressure, the fuel pump was replaced I believe, maybe its bad, I know there's a bad sending unit back there :(

I wish there was an easy trick to check the fuel pressure regulator.

Biggest concern at the moment is what is this connector missing the relay??

Anyone have a solid answer on that. Its located to the left of the ignition resistor or whatever that thing is. Towards the left side of the engine bay. Or better yet, how bout someone remove it from their Evo 4 5 6 and see if it starts??!! Please!!!! lol

^^ Anyone have a look at that relay above or remove it from their vehicle to check to see if it would still start?

It could possibly be a bad ground not letting the engine start or fuel related. It's definitely kind of intermittent.

- Healthy motor, runs strong when on w/no type of engine lights, CELS, codes
- CPS, CAS intact because the car is seeing fuel and spark.
- Low voltage can really hurt fuel pump performance but I only attempt to start the vehicle with assisted battery power.
- If it was a bad fuel pump, it would build up enough pressure to start after a few attempts at least, and wouldn't be spitting at the rail, I'd imagine.
- Bad FPR, don't know how often they go out on these.
- Car only dies when the RPMs fall to about 1000rpms AFTER going through the gears and only SOMETIMES.
- Idles perfectly fine WHEN on.
- Fuses in check
- Will not push start
- Compression Good
- Fuel Pump connector getting the proper voltage

How many more options do I have? This is probably an electrical fluke but it has me and a lot of people baffled. I know it's something simple, I can feel it....

5 months, no running Evo. Dammit, its the "No-Start" from Hell.

try an extra earth on it (jump lead from neg to the block)

these type of symptoms usually relate to crank or cam sensor and its not just a case of they either work or they dont as they can fail gradualy.
