recently ive notice when i go on hard runs the next day the dipstick has been pushed out slightly

now i know this is to do with crank case pressure so what are my alternatives to release this pressure is there any breather system or any mods i can do to the breather where does the on go at the back of the cam cover aswell

Doesn't sound good. Usually the reason you get the dipstick popping out is piston blow-by on high powered cars. Start off with the basics, take the pipes off the rocker cover to the inlet manifold (including the one way valve) and the one to the inlet pipe to the turbo, make sure they're clean (soak them overnight in petrol or gunk). Does the engine burn oil at all?

nope doesnt ue any oil, ive ran the pipe to turbo to atmosphere to see if that caused it but its due to crankcase pressure so possibly the other pipe at the back of the cam cover causing it, all turbo cars have this problem on when boost is turned up and i know its solved witha breather system, lets face it teh std evo stuff is cack and small, but duno anyone who makes a decent breather for these cars and dont know where the back breather goes too

Not always, my first 6 ran 1.8 bar and had no issues whatsoever. My 9 runs 2.2 bar and doesn't have any issues with the stick, and they both had standard venting. The 9 now has -10 fitments on the head going straight to a catch tank to give the crank a little relief :D

im running 23 psi, ill check that back breather tomorrow, but where does it go from the cam cover, can i vent it to atmosphere to se if it stops the problem

and yes could be a worn seal on the dipstick aswell

checked breathers?

it is quite a common issue, how tight a fit is the dipstick itself? if its a little slack then you can try a new o-ring and or crimpng the top of the tube a little with some pliers.

I think neverneverman even sells a clamp for holding them in.

If you vent it to atmosphere you'll have another issue, as there is a one way valve going into the inlet manifold on the back of the rocker cover.

I had the same problem once so I dumped her and got a younger model with less miles and that hadn't been round the block as much plus it was a bonus as she had a recent top end rebuild :) :) :) we Pmsl
