Hi All

Sticking some pics up of my new V :awesome:

Only had it a week and not had much chance to take any pics so these are some pics i was sent of it.

Going to try and use this as a record of things i do to the car etc

I planned to get my hands on an Evo 4 initially but ended up saving enough to get my hands on a good 5 or 6. I wanted to get an Evo as a 2nd car to do track days and yearly trips to the Nurburgring after going there last year.

So the plan was to buy a well spec'd car strip it out, and have fun :razz:

And the only pic ive managed to take thanks to the weather!

As you can see its in really good condition and im now in two minds as to what to do with it! The interior is really good and i think i would feel quite guilty if i strip it all out lol (hoping this is a just a new car thing)

So as for now i have only a couple of plans for it in the near future. Ive bought some black mudflaps (no stickers). Then i plan to have the wheels refurbed in a dark grey/anthracite with black enkei stickers and red symbol, and maybe a carbon fiber wing spoiler (maybe some more carbon fiber goodies too :sneaky:

Thats it for now, will get lots more pics up once its back from having the manifold repaired.

When I was offered the car I just loved the way it looked so couldn't pass it up, but knew it was too good to do what I had planned.

Iv took the stuff out of the boot. It had the original space saver with Yokohama tyre, mitsi tool kit and jack! The boot carpet and the weird cardboard wood thing that sits over the wheel well. That may be the only weight saving I do lol.

I'm quite handy with the tools so could remove more stuff but iv always found stuff never goes back in the same as before it came out.

It's been owned by 3 MLR member since it was imported. Kept very very clean by the first owner. 2nd owner had it for a month, put the coilovers on and the avc-r then sold it as he wanted a lancia intergrale thing. The the last owner did a lot of the little tasteful mods and looked after it for the last few years.

Just want it back from the garage now typical "we'll get it done Friday just bring it first thing"

That's the one Dimbers, it's changed a bit since then. Previous owner was Ant_evo on mlr.

Hmmm I like mine though coz of their rarity :wub:

I want to do them in a dark grey or gunmetal with black enkei sticker and red symbol :awesome:.

They're in need of a refurb, so just scoping for ideas

Thanks. Yeah I've come to that conclusion myself, may take the back seats out for the nurburgring trip though :razz:

Getting quite bored of cleaning the wheels lol they do need a refurb anyway so will keep thinking.

It's running around 1.65-1.7 bar. Previous owner said around 360bhp but it felt faster than any of the previous evos he'd owned which all ran 360bhp so he estimated 380 ish. But it feels fast enough to me, I think any more and it would be a bit too much for me to handle lol, it kicks in really hard too :awesome:

It's only running the standard turbo from what I know, dunno what the power limits are with that turbo might give a better idea of what it's running.

Little update.

So had the car a few weeks and the parts buying syndrome has taken hold :razz:

One thing that bugged me was the cracked rear light and missing cap from under the rear spoiler blade.

Cracked light, quite bad.

Got replacements so all smiles again even got replacements for the spoiler wing.

Then I put some Mudflaps on the car, went with all black no stickers? Little hard to make out in the pics, but I do like them as they are nice and subtle.

And one from the front looking very shiny :awesome:

Some more changes to come, got some harnesses on way for the ring trip too also going to replace the outer and inner tie rod ends to get rid of the clunks in the steering 90% sure they are the problem!

Thinking of an uprated rear ARB too as it was a great mod on my old scoob. But unsure over the 22mm or 24mm though, I remember the 24mm on classic subarus would rip the mounts out of the chassis so you had to buy expensive new mounts! Same with evos? Will stick a thread up in tech before I take the plunge.

Small update, preparations before the nurburgring in sept :awesome:

24mm Whiteline ARB fitted

Thanks to evo arm s m7960, loads of advise and great info on suspension set ups, changed my evos handling for the good.

Luke harnesses, not to everyone's tastes but iv always enjoyed using harnesses. Helped me out once too :shock:

Only bad news to report was a £60 fine for the front plate I deserve it as it is tiny so taking it on the chin. But it's very very hard for me to put a normal sized plate on that will cover some of the intercooler :sad:

Next up is an oil service and plug change.

Great to see our old E5 ....after we imported it, it was only used in dry weather/garaged...the engine bay still looks great ...we do miss it but it's great to see it's gone to another great owner who is looking after it & having much fun
