changing turbos?

Last question sorrydoes the oil need to be drained when changing over/fitting new turbo? Thanks.

If you don't drain it first the make sure you have something under the engine to collect some oil cos when you take the oil return pipe off that goes into the sump you will get some oil flow out of the sump because the level will be above the hole

Best drop it first I think save that happening

You could leave the return pipe on just have to be careful and its a pain to get the bolts back in but it can be done.

Best give yourself a clear day to do it if you haven't changed one before.. amazing how easy things work when there is no time pressures lol..

thanks guys,ive gotta change the sump pan anyway as its got a hairline crack in it and ive got some decent silkolene oil and a filter etc so im gonna get it all done at the same timegot a mate of mine whos a previous evo owner doing the work for me as he knows what hes doing from rebuilding his own evo"s over the years so cant complain lol thanks.
