Sounds like builder to me too! Go on what Si says buddy he really knows what he's talking about, he'll set you with some good ammo to fire at your builder.

Builders problem I had this twice on my car 3rd time lucky so far lol
Just push push push I did and to put it right I got charged 300 for oils and petrol to run it in
They rebuilt it fully forged

All clearances should have been checked prior to build even with second hand parts!! And then resized to suit, even if the rod was to blame it should have been noticed on build as being out of spec, not just lobbed in with new bearings!

Spun a bearing because of a rod you supplied??? But didn't you supply it to a reputable Evo specialist who have built engine after engine? Surely they checked everything was in tolerance and any issues such as chances of spinning was run past you before they put it together.....

I would say if the car isn't costing you anything to keep then keep it and get a later engine after some saving and get some monies back from AT

Sorry to hear this mate, stick with it

Builder is responsible :)

It's sounding to me as the " you supplied the parts " get out of jail free card is being played here, if you can gooner, post on here as much as you can, ie failure pictures , communications, explainations etc

Seem's this Phrase is used far to often in the high performance world and even in everyday life noday's:wtf:

Simon can you not rebuild his engine mate? just a thought as i know you do everything by the book and more!

Should never break it mate when there is enough deent people on here to help you out!

Sorry to hear the news though but sit down and think about it in a few day's mate and get a few other opinion's before you bale out:hm:

Seems to me that you could have sent them this, and they'd have said it was in spec and ok to use....

Feel for you chap.

But why did you use second hand parts, if it was to save money it looks like that as backfired.
I can see it from the builders point of view of view as well.

Best of luck.
