Buying an Evo 9 this weekend. Anything to look out for?

Yep, fairs fair, I didn't too annoyed about it coz it's his car and he can do what he wants, but I would honour an agreement. Maybe I'm old fashioned. No worry, I go to pick up a red fq340 tomorrow remapped to around 390bhp. This one is 2k more but has evo 10 wheels, a different hks exhaust, a better interior plus already has tax and is the lower bracket than the other, so in the long run id say I'm better off. I'm a happy man

Picked up the evo today. In very good condition and has loads of docs etc he said he'd replaced a rear wheel bearing and a front wheel bearing was on it's way out but not too bad and he had the replacement, but once me and my friend got going down the motorway his 280bhp leon was able to keep up with me if both gunned it in 6th at the same time?! I wasn't impressed. Then I done a speed run and at about 140 I could hear the bearing screaming... I guess that's why it was slow top end. I'll put in the new bearing asap and hopefully that will sort that. In the lower gears the acceleration is mental, I guess because there's so much torque the bearing can't hold it back as much. Also when changing to 2nd it sounds fine, when changing to 3rd and 4th you can really hear either the DV or turbo chatter. I've listened with the bonnet open and it sounds like the DV but it could easily be the sound of the turbo coming out of the intake. Do these dv's fail often after 70k? Could a crappy DV and possible boost leak maybe be why my mates leon was keeping up?

I'm no expert I've only had my evo 5 months now, maybe an idea to get it serviced and checked over by an evo specialist just to be safe, I have a local specialist so this I had them have a quick look over soon as I got it.
As for the cupra r keeping up with AWD cars like the impreza and evo people just think they are twice as fast as any other car, in the real world you loose quite a lot of power from the engine by the time it's at the wheels in an AWD, in comparison a FWDcar looses much less power by the time it's transferred to the front wheels, therefore once rolling (assuming its dry and grip isn't an issue) a Fwd car with less power will keep up with an AWD car with more power. If. You race off the lights I guarantee you will be amazed at the gap you create.

Off the top of my head
fwd power loss from flywheel to wheel is 5%ish
Rwd 15%
And AWD 20-25%
(Just roughly as I did research this before when a 310bhp Astra Vxr smoked my pals 370bhp evo so I heard anyway I wasn't there)
