I think it is more to do withe the dump valves, on cars with stock dump valves we very very rarely get surge at all, the one we did Friday had a tiny flutter for a second in 6th and that was it.

Have played quite a bit with Geof's on the Turbo smart but not got rid of it completely but it down quite a bit to what it was, the issue is about 300-3500 rpm in 6th full throttle is surges a bit then ups and off it goes.

It is easy enough to get rid of completely but you have to put the start duty down quite a bit and it kills performance.

Try it at full soft and see how it goes. It is not bad really but it is all relative. Compared to some track cars with no bov and mad spoiling turbo irbid non existent :)

Mine surges too Geof. It's because of the dv. Mine never did it when I had my standard recirculating on. I switched to a Blitz vta and it was terrible, now I have a Tial and it still does it but not as bad:)

If after market, which brand???

I really like stock, but then after that would be forge dual port or turbosmart dual port :)

hi Ant, can you explain how/why different dump valves effect compressor surge, as its a on throttle/boost issue?

I think they are leaking some of the excess air that would cause the surge
