Nick, Cant seem to find the guide i made? Not sure if i published it or what.
Anyway, in my picture thread i mention about the coversion and the troubles i came across.
http://www.evoowners.co.uk/f36/my-evo-iv-picture-thread-1836.html Anyway. I'l try to describe the best i can.
Remove calipers and discs.
You'll see the Brake disc splash shield...Rip that off(think they are that rotted most just bend and break in half). You cant use Brembos with them fitted.
Unscrew or cut the standard flexi hoses and undo the nuts from the flexi/pipe bracket area.
offer up and tighten braided hoses to bracket and pipe.
Fit the discs to the hubs and tighten up one wheel nut. or grub screw.
Offer up the caliper( make sure pistons have been pushed back in) and the pads inserted to the capiler(theres a spring clip and 2 pin clips that holf pads in the caliper)
using the brembo bolts Brought cheaper from Dave from EARS tuning garage(small bolts are for the rear) fit them to the hub(may need washers later on)
Tighten caliper up and bleed the calipers from BOTH nipples. Wipe the caliper clean from fluid. not only to stop paint peeling but you'll be doing a brake test once conversion has been completed.
Note: use correct caliper nipple spanner( these spanners are better suited than the usual spanners. they have better grip to prevent slipping)
Check brake res. for fluid topping up before fluid hits minimum. mark.
Repeat steps above to other side.
Start the engine and go into first gear and remove handbrake. check to make sure bolts are not fouling the discs. If you find the car wont move, the bolts are fouling discs. Use a washer which fits over the stud and is 3mm in thickness. Fit one washer per mounting bolt. tighten bolts and check for fouling on discs again, by moving car froward and backwards. If the car move freely you have prefect clearance.
Repeat steps for the front calipers. Checking brake fluid every time you bleed a caliper. Remember you need to bleed calipers starting furthest from brake res/master cylinder.
Conversion should take at least 2 hours for the perfect job. Check, install and check again.
Once finished take the car on a road test. Make sure the road is quite braking regularly to make sure there is no faults and you can stop. Once you return home check under the car for any brake fluid leaks. Paying attention to the alloys inner rim and the bottom of both bleed nipples.
Remember to bed the pads in if needed before any harsh braking.
