When I looked in to it I was told that as long as I had good pads and disc's on the back it should be fine. Never found out in the end as i sold the brembos and got some K sports to go on.

I fit OMP pad on mine, came with a nice price too.

Also consider getting some durable washers for the bolts. The bolts are cheaper via a tuner up north(cant remember the name) than Mitsubishi. If you dont buy the washer be prepered to refit the standard calipers and dive to a local motor factor to buy some. When i fit my brembos the bolts fouled the discs and the car wouldn't move.

Just bear that in mind when following the Sh1tty guides from some crappy forum you need to pay to 'use' Im almost certain i did a decent guide on here mind.

I also advise to use Hel brake lines. Just buy the EVO IV kit as it makes no difference if you buy the EVO V-IX they are all the same.

Oh and you'll need a small tub of brake fluid.

Nick, Cant seem to find the guide i made? Not sure if i published it or what.

Anyway, in my picture thread i mention about the coversion and the troubles i came across.

http://www.evoowners.co.uk/f36/my-evo-iv-picture-thread-1836.html

Anyway. I'l try to describe the best i can.

Remove calipers and discs.

You'll see the Brake disc splash shield...Rip that off(think they are that rotted most just bend and break in half). You cant use Brembos with them fitted.

Unscrew or cut the standard flexi hoses and undo the nuts from the flexi/pipe bracket area.

offer up and tighten braided hoses to bracket and pipe.

Fit the discs to the hubs and tighten up one wheel nut. or grub screw.

Offer up the caliper( make sure pistons have been pushed back in) and the pads inserted to the capiler(theres a spring clip and 2 pin clips that holf pads in the caliper)

using the brembo bolts Brought cheaper from Dave from EARS tuning garage(small bolts are for the rear) fit them to the hub(may need washers later on)

Tighten caliper up and bleed the calipers from BOTH nipples. Wipe the caliper clean from fluid. not only to stop paint peeling but you'll be doing a brake test once conversion has been completed.

Note: use correct caliper nipple spanner( these spanners are better suited than the usual spanners. they have better grip to prevent slipping)

Check brake res. for fluid topping up before fluid hits minimum. mark.

Repeat steps above to other side.

Start the engine and go into first gear and remove handbrake. check to make sure bolts are not fouling the discs. If you find the car wont move, the bolts are fouling discs. Use a washer which fits over the stud and is 3mm in thickness. Fit one washer per mounting bolt. tighten bolts and check for fouling on discs again, by moving car froward and backwards. If the car move freely you have prefect clearance.

Repeat steps for the front calipers. Checking brake fluid every time you bleed a caliper. Remember you need to bleed calipers starting furthest from brake res/master cylinder.

Conversion should take at least 2 hours for the perfect job. Check, install and check again.

Once finished take the car on a road test. Make sure the road is quite braking regularly to make sure there is no faults and you can stop. Once you return home check under the car for any brake fluid leaks. Paying attention to the alloys inner rim and the bottom of both bleed nipples.

Remember to bed the pads in if needed before any harsh braking.
