ABS Light Can you help??

Hi Guys and Girls,
I'm new here, and have posted in the newbies.
Ok, this weekend, in the snow like most people, although the difference may well be, that I went and bumped the curb, with my Evo IV!!
This was about 10 MPH, yet still skuffed the 18'' alloy quite bad, also knock things out of line on the left rear, I've adjusted the arms to bring it back into line, although, this will go for a 4 wheel track next weekend.
Just wonder if there's and arm, that is the most likely to bend out of shape? Although, close inspection doesn't show anything bent, or twisted.
The main problem, is the ABS light is now on!!
None of the other lights stay on, just the ABS light.
There does seem to be the correct clearance between the ABS sensor and the sensor hub ring.
Also I've checked the connections, WD40'd them, but still the light shows.
Any Ideas chaps/Chapesses?
Cheers.

Just as a thought to the above question...
Could it posibly be that the rear, and or front tracking being slightly out of line, making the wheel speeds different, hence ABS light on?
Cheers.

I think you may have damaged the hub which in turn will have damaged the sensor.

There may well be damage to the wishbone, it has been known to happen.

Keep us posted on what happens when you go to have it tracked.

Thank you for the reply.
I can't see any damage even with the wheel removed, and comparing it to the other side, I said prviously I will be getting the four wheel track, and camber set next weekend, so posted another thread regarding the settings.
I'll keep you posted the outcome of the geometry.
Just wondering about your view of wheel alignment, as mentioned, could this cause an inbalance of wheel speeds, therefore, ABS light on?
As you know, as the wheels/car turns 1 wheel must slow down, and 1 must be slightly faster, therefore if the tracking is out on 2 axles, could this be the cause??

Anything is possible buddy.

I would have said yes but the car does not have rear drums so you may have to rule it out.

There are many owners that have been in the same situation as you after an accident and in the majority of cases, the hub, wishbone or suspension leg required replacing for optimal settings to be achieved.

Check the play in the wheel, as a slight play will turn on the abs light to come on. Also check the steering arm for damage, it's the metal bar that the track rod end screws on to.

Chances are it will have cracked or taken some teeth off the pick up ring its quite common for them to do it when they are bumped in to a curb

Ok guys, thank you for your educated answers, I'll still try getting the set up done, and take a close look.
I suppose the next question is going to be...
Where can i get a used replacement hub?

Hi Phil.

I had a feeling that the teeth may have been damaged or chipped, as suggested by Jamie.

You can replace the ring alone so give the dealers a try in the morning, they might have them on the shelf, you never know.

The other route is to buy a complete Drive Shaft but they are not cheap so just weigh up your options in the morning.

Hi chaps, thank you for your replies. :)
It's the passenger side rear mate.
And I'll see if I can find a dealer close to Newark then.

So does it just knock off then?

From my searching, it looks as though others have struggled to get just the ring from a dealer, some have refused to supply/fit just the ring, and the other alternative seems as though replace the whole shaft, which is very costly, and somewhat an anoyance, for just the sake of this silly little target/tone ring. Or the best way seems though it could be to buy a new/ used CV joint, which it appears as though the ring comes whith the joint.
Anyone else have any ideas/views, or a joint?

Edit.....

Thank you jamie@evotune, I see you beat me to this post chap.
