I'd get a diagnostic done and this will tell you where the problem lies.

you are correct in thinking that the ayc does use the abs sensor so that may not work until the problem is fixed, you will be fine to drive it in the meantime though.

Agreed!

I suspect that it may be the rear N/S sensor as they have be known to go quicker then the others for some reason:confused:

The Mitsi dealers can run a diagnostic and I think they charge around £45 or so.

It is no guaranteed that they will diagnose it correctly however, as quite a few people that I know have been advised by them to change the wrong one:mad:

Here's to hoping they get it right this time though;)

never listen to a 'trained' mitsi mechanic

I've always found code reading to be accurate, but dont pay mitsi.....do it yourself by bridging 1 and 4 on the obd port (long flashes =10 and short flashes =1)

Hope it is a wheel bearing mate. If it's the diff. not a cheap fix.

I'd first of all get your wheel bearing checked as this can trigger the abs light and also the ayc light. My ayc light came on instead of the abs light. I had the same problem on a e4 a while back. The wheel bearing was Loud. Got the complete hub replaced (got it cheap) and it was sorted. The light stayed on but after a quick reset with scanner it was sorted. The fault showed up as abs sensor. It was weird as I expected the abs light to be on and not the ayc one!

No prob. I hope it's your bearing mate. The diffs not a cheap fix.

I have a black e4 (sunroof),e6 engine complete with similar issue. I'm 90% sure it's the diff!! Just wondering whether or not to break the car instead of doing the diff. It's too good to break though being black and having the sunroof.

Let us know how you get on

That's good news it's not the diff. :) By Solus I take it the Snap on? It doesn't connect unfortunately

You might be better off changing the complete hub for the wheel bearings. Removing the abs sensor can sometimes damage it. I managed to get acomplete hub with abs sensor and a handbrake cable for £50. Others wanted upto £125 with the abs sensor!!

Thats cool mate. Hopefulyy he should get you a good price. I'm sure Mitsi only sell the hub and not bearings on their own :( I'm sure I called them. Yep the Snap on is sh** on the older cars. They should be able to work out all the probs.
