The latter. I did 2 earths off the battery, both 4 awg. One mounts directly to a drilled hole on the chassis, and one in the rear wing. Works fine for me :)

nice one steve , I was thinking of making an earthing kit so maybe helpful to see where others have earthed to etc.

I can tell you that now :p

- from the fire wall under the injector resistor pack to the thermostat housing
- from the mount next to the brace point on fire wall to cylinder head (this is where I've also mounted the new coil pack earth to give a better spark)
- from the gearbox to the inside wing
- from a bolt near the sump to the subframe

All threads were cleaned with the appropriate tap to guarantee metal to metal contact and bolts were coated in copper grease :)

Right, my camera battery is dead, so i'll show you pics i have so far :p lol



You can see the attachment (just) in the inner wing, and the other is mounted to the battery tray.
