picked the car up tonight and car is still the same
loud tapping/ticking around 3k and loss of power. almost feels like when you leave maf unplugged. my brother is of the opinion that one of the tappets is sticking could this lose me power.
i have put the car back to standard and double checked all and all is connected so no boost leaks, gauge reads ok.
im lost with it now, i have sorned it off the road until i can work out my next move, im thinkin of taking the lash adjusters out and cleaning them up and see if that makes any difference.
if the maf was up the creak without a paddel would my managment light come on im guessing yes.

dont want to be a scare monger here but have you had the sump off and looked for swarf or bits of big end !
Ive been looking at a few of these threads recently and it seems it is happening a fair bit recently.
Due to power loss and tapping id be more pointing (crying) towards big ends mate.
Get the sump off and check it it may just be the big end shell, but this would be the check id be doing as if it is big end then its a UCKIN expensive job (REBUILD). After the sump off check the lash adjusters.
Just remembered chris had your oil out and flushed, did he see anything in there ?
or more to the point was he looking for it ?
