im wondering where to go with my evo 4

iv had a evo 5 lump put in after the 4 lump blew up, whilst i was there i changed the injectors, ecu and turbo for e6 ones. i also had a uprated intercooler and walboro fuel pump put in aswell

i have since had a helix 6 paddle ceramic clutch and lightened flywheel put in and got tein susspension, e6 brembo calipers, ebc discs and pads put on.

i got the little bits done aswell like forge recirc valve, hks mushroom filter and3" straight through exhaust from the downpipe so i know i need to get the turbo elbow done.

my question is where do i go from here?

i want to get a exhaust manifold but im not going to get the cheap ones that dont last and spilt, and when iv finished everything i will get it mapped.

thanks gav

Haven't you had it mapped yet? You will need to get it mapped asap. For an exhaust manifold go for either a FullRace or JMF both around the same price, I would be putting a evo 9 80 series turbo, I would also be putting in a set of cams and while your at it uprated springs and retainers at the same time then i think you would need to be forging if you want anymore power

thought getting it mapped was the last thing to do as any changes after that will require a remap?

I think you have done enough already to need a map are you using the car? With fitting a manifold you will only need to have your fueling checked

Yea once you got all your bits fitted I would get it mapped as soon as possible.

Around 1:60 bar boost is a safe place to be without risking blowing another engine.

Personally I would just leave it with the mods you have cos if you do much more then you will risk throwing a rod out

if your sticking with the standard turbo then save your pennies and stick with the stanard manifold, no gains to be had really with aftermarket at that level.

If its not mapped yet get a AFR check asap as you could blow this engine up too if you not careful.

always best to get the engine checked after you've been 'fiddling' but I'm sure it is fine as it is, as it is basically standard.

He is an Evo tuner though so would have thought he would..... Perhaps that's the reason he sells vipec ecu then :)
