:shock: looks like mine when i got it.... lol. the stone chips are easily fixed but as you have quite a few and they look quite big i would get a respray where necessary. i need my front splitter done as it is really bad too. as for the discolouration, just get it detailed. well worth it and you will be suprised!!

what are the black specks on the doors ??? tar ??

the grime around the handles, and where the rear arches meet the doors etc can all be removed with some all perpose cleaner and a small soft brush. all the tar/oil/fuel splats can all be cleaned off with the right chemicals.

front bumper will defo need prep and paint

the chips out the rear bumper might be able to be touched in and not look half as bad once the rest of the chap has been cleaned off and id probably leave the split in rear bumper unless it actually needs painting to get rid of the scuffs in which case they would repair that when preping for paint

a good way to do some of the smaller chips is get the matching colour and put small amounts on using a cocktail stick, slowly building the layers up. prevents putting too much on then and that looks worse than stone chips!! lol

the spots are i think stone chips but i put some stuff called krust on them to stop them from rusting and it has made them look 10 times worse

i'm taking it to paul at pw pro on friday so he can have a look but its the front bumper im worried about and the split in the rear

yea kurust goes black then your supposed to paint it lol

front and rear bumpers can both be repaired and painted so no real worries there.

A good bodyshop will probably tell you which parts need painting and which don't. I'd look at painting the bumpers and get the rest detailed. Most of it just looks like tar spots which a good clean will remove.

ps You might want to paint over the rear lights

Most of the black shite is road tar and contaminents mate and should clay or tar remover off by the looks of it, if you really want to do it cheaply go to halfords and buy a touch up stick then fill any road chips and ask pw to polish in for you.

Seen this done loads of times and you wouldnt know it hasnt been sprayed tbh .

nah i don't want it done cheaply, just thought i was using me noodle by thinking if i put this kurust stuff on i will prevent it from rusting, turns out i've turned it into a friggin dalmation :sad::sad:

I can't see the pics properly as I'm on my crappy netbook but have you put that stuff on the front of the car? The front wings and bonnet are aluminium so they won't rust.

I'm currently trying to get a quote for mine to get a complete respray. If it's about £1000-1500 then I'll probably get it done. If it's around the £2000 mark then I'll probably sell the car cheap and get another one. Probably another 8.

You've gotta think how much you're spending and how much you're adding to the value.
The thing that's making me want to keep it is that mine's in really good nick mechanically but it's just let down by the shabby bodywork

I reckon paul will be able to detail 70% of it. The rest will need filling and respraying.

I suggest get the areas paul recommend filled and resprayed and then get paul to detail the whole car.

Front bumper defo needs some work.

Your right it probably looks worse with the kurst on it as is >.<

I am sure it will look good in the end though

Are you coming up to Notingham to see Paul or is he coming to you?

and its about time they were changed and its so easy to do and youll prob find loads of standard ones on ebay
