Wipers won't return back when switched off

After heavy rain last night drove to work on the way I clear window so turned wipers on and they worked fine then when I turned them off they didn't return all the way back down as I keeped trying to get them down they started stopping higher and higher now they won't return no where near to the bottom of the screen I've changed the motor and still doing it any ideas they do work when switched on second speed

Write I've replace the wiper switch and motor and it's still not doing what it should could it be the mechanism

i might be sounding stupid here, so dont quote me on this but if that was me id be making sure the nut on that bolts the wipers on is secure and the wipers are not jumping the teeth on there :blush: either that could the relay b at fualt? im just stabbing at stuff here or as u say the mechanism

Yes that is very write been looking at it most of the day and one of the spindles where really seized I had a spare replaced it and yes all working again

:) i do it my self some times over thinking the problem gets u replacing the parts that dont need replacing :) glad u r sorted mukka

Yer that's exactly it some times it is so simple hope you sort your whistle problem out too I had a whistle which took me days too find
