I'm no tuner and fairly new to modding Evo's but I'd replace the fuel pump before any mapping because I've heard the standard one really isn't up to the task when you start upping power, and for 70 quid it's better to be safe IMO especially considering you'll need one in the end anyway

Any idea what is the part# for an 255 wallbro for the evo5? Or will the 789 fit the 5? Thanks!

the walbro fitting kit is the same for evo 4-9

Yeah unless you're doing some SERIOUS modding the 255 will do the job.

I'm pretty sure they're one size fits all seeing as they just go in place of the old pump in the housing, and this one is advertised for all Evo's

On a side note I've never thought boost controllers where soo expensive! The electric ones, seeing as I only wamt a slight increase in boost I'll go for the turbosmart manual one

I've heard electronic boost controllers (EBC's) are better than manual, specifically the 'grimmspeed' EBC is meant to be a really good one which is what I've bought they are controlled by the ecu rather than you manually turning it up which is the better way of doing it as far as I know. I have heard about some people having both a manual and electronic controller but that's unnecessary for our level of modding I guess. I'm pretty convinced my grimmspeed will serve me well though. Might be worth having a google mate unless you're set on a manual EBC

Sorry, I just re-read your post. Ordering from America generally works out cheaper than buying over here, so that might be worth looking into. I've just got my Perrin intake for 184 quid from America, over here the exact same intake is 257 on a site I've used for parts before. Just do your research before you buy. I've read that the turbosmart is meant to be pretty decent so if you're going manual, that seems like a pretty good choice

Thanks bro, yeah typically its best (cheaper/faster) buying stuff from the states in my case due to my location I've got a forwarder in the states that shipp the goods my way.

In cases of a few parts that are mot available in the states I order them from the UK.. then they go to the states than they get to me pretty long and expensive route thats why I'm always asking if the 789 part fits the 456 lol

But back on topic yeah am 90% set on the manual, just want to run 1.3 bar of boost and I'll be happy with that

To be honest id assumed you were from the uk, so a lot of what I've just said is useless lol anyway it seems like a MBC will suit your needs just fine and shouldn't have a problem getting the bar you are after. Do you have a boost gauge so you can see how much boost you're running or is there some other way I don't know about?

Yea bro I have a boost gauge fitted mods are on first page of post.

Hitting 1bar atm / 15psi just a few clicks needed so it'll be set and forget
