name was robgsr4 or paypal name rob moat. got an email off him after i got my money back. saying he had been locked up in jail and had just been released hence not being able to reply to my emails........but either way i won't be buying of him again lol

Well lets just say that you were right to assume he was trying to rip you off shall we.

I hope he was right in saying that he was locked up and I hope it is in connection with obtaining money by deception as I am personally aware of 2 members that have owned up to have been ripped off by him over on the MLR.

Here is one of the members PM's sent to me:

i phoned him on wed and he said that he would post it thurs. I called him this morning aswell and he said that he had posted it and would get on to the courier and call be back within the hour, still no call. Both times i have withheld my number so he answers. His no is 07516 387958 name is robert moat. Can u not say that i gave u his number coz im tryin 2 get the exhaust first

I contacted this rogue trader and told him that I am interested in buying the dif which was the most expensive item he had or at least claimed to have at the time and he did not answer the phone so I left a voice mail.

A text message was promptly sent by him offering immediate delivery service with a cheap and cheerful price to reel me in.

I replied via text saying that I am less than 20 minutes from Sheffield and want to collect and pay in person.

I never got a reply back.

As far as I am aware, she is still waiting for the item(s)


The following questions do spring to mind here:

How was he locked up when he was still sending and receiving text messages?

Why was someone else on the MLR bumping his thread back to the top?
(obviously it was him using a different user name )

Why do people let their guard down automatically when it comes to buying off members?

to be fair i always look at the amount of posts and time being a member. if the member has a high amount of posts and the member had done his time i would consider him pretty safe and pay through paypal as a gift.(depending on amount) although this rob moat did'nt have many posts or history and the payment was 350 quid so luckly i put it through paypal as goods.
