Doubt it mate, the 400 comes with forged internals as standard, they were hardly goin to sell a faster car on stock internals?

Your dead right, I'd want to see receipts too, otherwise forget about it :)

Yeah very true I have seen the receipts for the build and I have spoke to the guys at the garage who built it.. But I have doubts about the 2.2 them dyno results don't really impress me for how much he spent on it he told me it it was putting down nearly 470hp at the wheels would make it a 500hp car at the fly?? Is that right

Sorry to jack the thread, but i'm almost in the same position... except that i've decided i want an FQ400, and was looking at a X, but have seen a nice VIII MR and now am torn between the two.

The X has 7415 miles at $35,000 pounds, the VIII MR has 4178 miles for $30,000 pounds.

I like the new look of the X, but that VIII has so few mileage, its practically new!

The VIII is limited to 100 units and runs 0-60 in 3.5, and the X has only made it to 27 units? and runs 0-62 in 3.8? I hear the 8/9 are more aggressive, and the 10 more composed... is that right?

Trying to import a fast road car over here to Oz, both will be rare either way.

Any advice?

Yeah, they are both at Xtreme. I found it there as they have the only X i've found for sale so far. I think the VIII is definitely better, especially here in particular in that sexy charcoal grey/black colour, and with such a small amount of mileage. I think i might just prefer the 'new' look of the X body. Obviously they aren't as 'raw' as the 8 and 9, but i think they are a bit more mature looking(considering i'm getting on a bit). If only i could have both! lol.

I think i might have just answered my own question... but the VIII is definitely hard to pass up in that condition. So nice.

Though the E8 MR FQ 400 is rare its not a great car. The turbo and its delivery let it down massively :( A GT3076 makes it an awesome motor :D Then you've got to look out for the gearbox letting go :(

Yeah thats correct but it all depends on how you drive it what sort of power your running it at 400bhp ATF is not that excessive at all really that's what's it's been built at.. Not that I'm gona get into a big debate with you Steve but you do have a very valid point... And it does happen... Anybody who tunes any car to run past what it suppose to runs a risk of things breaking I've know of 5 speed boxes giving up but I think thats just the risk you carry...

^ So the 8 MR FQ400 is still a top bit of kit as stock standard though right? I just found out that the X cant be imported to Oz anyway because they were sold here in high volume. And the last one i can get in is the 8. Which is a shame as Xtreme said the red X sold, but they were getting in another 2010 in red, with less miles at a cheaper price($33K).

So if i want the rare FQ400 model, i have to go with the 8. What do you think of that grey one on Xtreme for $30K? Expensive, but i assume its because its a clean example with such few miles?

It'll cost me another 10,000 pounds to import it on top. I think its worth it.

No question has to the the fq-400 :) would have if I could.

Even with the turbo, which wouldn't he a massive issue to change in the future, the car is an icon..someone one near me had one when they first came out, awesome car

Yeah I would have like it myself but I turned out to that it needed some work doing to it... It was real slow the guy who had it before didn't set it up when they changed the turbo and front mount it had been running like that for a good while we took it for a test drive and the oil pressure light kept coming on.. ???
