Hi I'm looking to sell my Discovery 3 hawk and buy either a 9 fq340 or a 10 fq330. A friend of mine has a fq360 evo 9 tuned to 465bhp and raves about it and slates the evo 10?? He advised every one thats had a 10 he knows sells with in months for a 9 because there cr*p?? I am not to sure and only just researching this so thought what a better place to ask than on an owners club.

If a 9 is better than a 10 an how come?? Is it the reputation of the 9 or is the 10 suffering with issues i.e handling or reliability?? I wish to buy one and keep for a few years so any advice would be great.

Thanks Darren

welcome along buddy.

im sure people that own the respective cars will be along to give their reasons why you should buy each. if i was in your position i would go for a manual 10 360 :D
i wasnt keen o the 10 at first but now if i got rid of my 5 i would get a 10 or a 6 tme.

Id say your mate needs to think a bit more before he speaks and get his facts straight cos if you believe his Evo 9 fq400 is so much better than a 10 then there is only reason why and that's cos he lives in a dream world cos they never made a Evo 9 fq400

Speaking with an open mind, the Evo 10 is a completely different car to a Evo 7/8/9 just as a Evo 7/8/9 is a completely different car to a 4/5/6 I know this cos I've had a 7 and now own a 6.

It speaks for itself really, evolution. Each model evolved into something better !

Don't know where he got the crap about people selling there 10 I favour of 9

Thank you that's exactly what I thought and what I needed confirming, any other replies still be much appreciated, I do think it maybe that he has now had 3 9's and that's his opinion but didn't want heart ache if bought a 10 and regret it.

Evo X handles like a dream, and IMO is the best Evo. Ive had a iv and 2 vii's, and my manual X 360 is a far superior car out of the box

You won't go wrong with a 10 mate, and you can glote about how much further you can go without having to have a service :)

Go road test one and you'll be walking out the showroom with a big smile on your face garented :)

I'd go for a 9 360. The 10 is growing on me but a 9 all day long for me. Test drive them both and give us feed back on them, plus your save some penny's if you go for a 9. P.s lee don't think he said fp 400? :)

Mate personally I'd go for a 9 looks better got alot more torque I reckon than the earlier models when I got mine there were not alot of 9s about drove a couple wicked drive but they wernt looked after ones so I'm the end went with the mrfq300 thought it was the best option. The 6 Tomi makinan really good just thought I'd get a newer model so I cab keep it longer.
I think it's best for you to see what you like but like the 6 looked amazing and the 9 does to. Just found the 10 is a bit more of road car than a rally machine but until you drive it you'll never know. Also depends on what you like.
But if you look at an Evo every model they make is better than the last in terms of power and drivability.

One last silly question as having a evo will be new to me, with a 10 do I need to use high octane fuels such as from bp or shell? Or is it ok to use any unleaded fuels??

More concerning that you would feel the need to just jump down the throat of the poor lad straight away, thought it was meant to be friendly on here... feels a bit MLR'ish
