what to look out for when viewing an evo?

was just going to ask this question in my other thread, but is another topic. hopefully going to look at one tomorrow, is there any knocks or squeeks from places i should be looking etc?? Car in question is an evo 8

suspension knocks,diff noises,ayc lights/acd tarmac gravel snow lights etc all working etc

just basically use your common sense, if it seems dodgey,then it is..dont fawn over and fall in love when viewing a car.

haha ive made that mistake before so deffo wont be doing that again, have my old man going with me who is an ex mechanic, so should hopefully be ok

cheers, went to view it today does look nice, all seemed ok, didnt get chance to go out in it, but said i was quite interested, going to try and get the chap to bring it down to a local specialist to have a look over it aswell, if i get the thumbs up then ill most likely buy it

Just seen this post. Always get a proper specialist to give the car a detailed inspection. I've run an Evo for 13 years and I thought I knew how to check them till I watched NR Autosport going over an Evo VIII for my son. The car was virtually perfect but I realised how many expensive faults I would miss!

yes, interested in an evo ive seen already, just in middle of organising owner to bring car down to a specialist i know who work on alot of evo's and impreza's to go over it

I'm not sure of that mate but

I would strongly advise giving the car a thorough checking for rust,it may look good from the top,but underneath may be a different story!

Personally I would only buy a jap import and a fresh one at that
