what next?

Got a whining noise coming from transmission well i think it is anyway. i changed all the oils in the gearbox, transfer box and the rear diff but still got the noise? sounds like its coming from the front end too?

anyone know what could be wrong or what to turn to next?

Process of elimination 1st mate.

If it was me, get it up on a wheel free ramp and drive it. Hopefully something like a wheel bearing.

Is it speed or revs dependent? Does it make it more when cornering?

what about your belts? i had a whining noise when my alternator belt was going.....

Av owned the car for nearly 2 years and had changed the timing belt and auxiliary belt pulleys

When we were out mapping your car mate it sounded more like it was coming from the gearbox. Was defo from the front passenger side, where as the transfer box is nearer the centre. Could be something like a bearing, but regardless, it will be a box off job for sure.

What was the colour of the oils when you dropped them? All nice & clean, or silver in colour? Also, did the gearbox magnetic plug have loads of stuff stuck to it?

The oil that came out was black as the road and the magnetic cap had hardly any metal stuck to it
