depends if your gonna do much track work with it ?

the evo 7/8/9 coolers are bigger and are perfect for 400bhp road car but if your gonna track it then i would be looking at a AMS cooler but not the big one they do cos that will be to much work to get it to fit

Are these really good for 89 quid Jamie??

I personally would not recommend a £89 intercooler but I have to say the one I saw on his car worked fine and still is, the car was only a road car though if you were tracking the car then temps might start to rise and a better cooler would be required.

i was advised to change mine as my inlet temps where getting a bit high , i already have a forge cooler on the car but its still about the standard size for a e4 just thicker .

just doing as am told :O)

what temps are you actually seeing? have these been measured when the car is being pushed hard?

i have seen a few big power evo 5-600bhp using the autoban 88 cooler. i believe its an ebay job that actually works although the hardpipe kit is useless :)

failing that you also have AMS or the APS like i have :)

IMO most intercooler testing is not done in the correct way, Single sweep power runs on a RR dont tell you much, You need to test them on the road with real wind in real conditions and test through the gears and the recovery rate of the core,
This gives you results of what it does in the real world.

will have to find out ??

they said it would be better to fit a better cooler as the inlet temp was getting a bit higher than they would like to see .

im not in a rush to change the cooler just wanted to see what my options are , if a standard late evo cooler would be up to the job ??

i have used a universal cooler before on my old cav turbo , but that was a case of having to to fit behind the bumper ,

i am planning on building a stronger engine maybe in the new year so a bigger better one might not be a bad thing any way .
