after reading through one or two posts on here i had an idea that id like to put to you lot. MLR has the sprints series which is the only good thing over there how would people like it if we set up are on bit of fun at a dis used airfield or something, bit of fun mark out a course and time it and make it a bit of a get together and have a laugh.
like i said it was just an idea and maybe the mods can expand on the idea or even see if we could hire a track for the day etc.

Dis-used airfields are going to be difficult to get permission to use. Plus the ones that are any good are owned by defence estates now and have recently put a full ban of non official cars being used on their land.

well mlr held a sprint day at RAF marham last month sometime.....

now, obviously it is very busy at marham atm with the libya stuff etc, but i work there and have a membership with the motorclub who run such events.

when i go back in on monday i will have a word with the guy who runs it and what needs to be done to get us on there... it wont be hard though.

ill keep you all updated.

obviously, if someone could get something more central then it would benefit everyone better.

Airfield track days are available but that is what they are, track days and so timing is not aloud, so they say.

There are a few days that are ran by Motorsport events

Keevil is a good one in Wiltshire

The benefit of airfield days is there is nothing to hit should you spin

Plenty of videos on YouTube for any of these events so have a flick round

So you'll know how much of an utter ball ache it is for every other section on camp, especially the FOD officer and the SHE advisor. I get to speak to them a lot recently due to being a tornado fraternity

well like i said, it is highly unlikely atm due to whats going on.... and being in the back end of nowhere, something more central would be better!!!

See what you come up with buddy and see if you can make enquiries a little further afield too.
